For the past 13 years, I have operated the Israel Forum with the hopes of fighting anti-Semitism, helping to counter the barrage of anti-Israeli lies that can be found all over the Internet, and to give Jewish and other pro-Israeli bloggers a platform to extend the reach of their words.
Operating this forum has its costs for hosting the site, updating its hardware and software and, most of all, retaining technical experts to repel endless malicious cyber attacks each day. I have done all this without charging anyone a penny, nor profiting in any way, and I am proud of the Israel Forum, its fine membership, and its achievements. As such, I believe the Israel Forum to have been one of only a handful of sites in which one could find such high-quality discussions about Israel.
Since the inception of the Israel Forum, we have received millions of visitors, including many top decision-makers in the fields of education, industry, military, and diplomacy -- exactly as I had hoped.
At the same time, for more than a decade, my business and personal obligations have grown. These are positive developments, but they place extensive demands on my time. In truth, these obligations have increasingly prevented me from providing the marketing, management, leadership, and participation in the forum that are needed to ensure its survival and growth. As much as I still believe in the mission of the Israel Forum, I just don't have the time or focus needed to do a good job running it.
And so, I've decided to stop publishing the Israel Forum.
Overall, it's been fun and rewarding in many ways. We've had outstanding members who deserve our appreciation, and several people whom I met here are still my friends many years later. It's been a good ride, and I bid you farewell. Until next time...
