On the other hand in 1973 when Israel was attacked it was not until the third day of battle that Henry Kissinger told the American President Nixon to send 3 (three) AC-130 cargo planes to Israel to help out. When asked by Nixon how many we had, he was told "23". So the order went out, over the objection of the US state department to send the other 20 cargo planes. 20 cargo planes is about one quarter of what we sent to Indonesia (a muslim country) after the tsunami, for example.
