It is indeed a very funny and sad picture at the same time. What an idiot, not for burning himself, but even more because of burning a symbol which is independent from government policies and held high and respected by so many people throughout the ages.
As for u Arjunn (what a violent name, by the way-hindi equivalent for Mars-God of War), u have many patriottic fellow Indians who happen to be muslim and Hindu and Sikh, who are guilty of the same thing. Burning flags, even of the United States (Sikhs for protesting USA's support for Indians crackdown on Sikhs who want more cultural or political rights, and Hindu's protesting USA's criticism against India's nuclear programme and alledgedly spreading decadence and discord by aggressive pop culture and missionaries) Reasons I find ridiculous by the way. I love Mac Donalds, RMB and as for missionaries; they are always welcome for a good laugh.

Indeed it is, on many levels. But I thinks it is obvious what has happened in this picture, the GOP, sure that the anti-flag burning amendment would not pass into law secretly installed a built-in protection/revenge system into all new flags, a simple alarmed version for the domestic and Canadian markets which would alert the nearest member of the Republician party as to the whereabouts of the atrocity, and a flame spreading version for everywhere else.

I don't see what's so funny about a man burning him self. Thats just sadistic. It doesn't matter if he was burning a flag. In the end he was a HUMAN being that got burnt. Sickining to laugh at that kind of joke.
