    Reuters Photos... Oh my...

Well, for those who haven't come across this yet, take a look at the following picture first before reading on, and see if you notice anything odd about it... (it's not graphic):

    http://news.yahoo.com/photo/060805/i...3101797657.jpg

Alright, well, if you didn't pick up on it, check out the smoke patterns... likely use of a photoshop 'clone' tool... ^^

    Anyway, the whole story heh:

It's been confirmed, Reuters "killed" the photo.

The photographer, curiously, is the same guy who took the photos of the corpse parade in Qana.

The one thing I don't feel about it is surprise. There has been so much evidence of media bias and fundamental dishonesty during the last few days, that hardly anything can surprise me in that department.

OMG You are right! The smoke patterns are sooo fake, it's definitely photoshop work. But what do you expect from the naive Arab population who are easily brainwashed by their leaders?

Reuters admits to doctoring Beirut photo
    By JPOST.COM STAFF

Reuters news agency admitted on Sunday that it had digitally altered a photograph of an Israeli attack on Lebanon on Saturday, showing more smoke than was actually present.

The photograph, as initially published, showed an aerial view of Beirut after an IAF attack, with two large pillars of smoke rising over the city. The caption read: Smoke billows from burning buildings destroyed during an overnight Israeli air raid on Beirut's suburbs.

The agency has since withdrawn the photograph, issued an apology and released the unaltered picture. Its public relations department said the photographer had been suspended until the investigation was completed.

Reuters was notified of the alteration by American bloggers who noticed repeating patterns within the smoke plumes, indicating that part of the image was duplicated several times.

The scene was photographed by Adnan Hajj, who had also photographed the aftermath of the Israeli attack on Kana last week, in which the Lebanese initially claimed 58 fatalities, but could later only confirm 28.

    -------------------------

In all of my years, I have never seen something so blatant with respect to bias against one side in a war.

This obscenity should force Reuters and the other parrots (oops, I mean news services) to CEASE from proffering the al-manar propaganda lies from the hezboolah criminal fascists.

They owe Israel a VERY public apology, and should at the very least, review the so-called "qana massacre" to expose the hideously manipulated information from that event.

[.. the photographer had been suspended ..] ????

Exactly who is this "photographer", and has he/she sent in for publication other photos that should now be considered "suspect"?

Ok so Israel has not been bombing targets in Beirut, because what i have been hearing for the past 3 days is completely fake. I am a photographer and seeing these pictures, its very normal this is how it really does look like, believe it or not, i dont know why the quality is not too good, but the smoke, its normal.
I dont know what you people are debating over whether Beirut really is being hit, or whether we are making that up, and showing fake pictures to prove it, if you want ill pay for a ticket to come visit us here, oh wait your planes destroyed our Airport, or you dont believe that either.

I don't know Lubnani, you tell us how this whole propaganda media abuse thing works. Your posts give me the impression you probably have a really good handle on it. There's plenty of smoke to photograph, so why did he fake it? Clearly it's faked. If there are plenty of civilian casualties to photograph, then why did this same photographer used greyed out corpses and Hezbollah shills parading around as his example of these deaths? It's a good question, and we'd like to know the answer. Why the need to manipulate these scenes? It's curious, just like your response is curious.

We;re not questioning the existance of smoke, or bodies, we're questioning this particular photo journalists integrity - and you should be too. Actually, on second though - I doubt you're worrying about impartiality either are you. Meanwhile, the World media goes out of it's way to present the genocidal Islamic terrorist point of view, speaking to them as if they have diplomatic rights.

You know what, i dont know, why he did fake it, i mean if he did, i really cant tell, and i take war photographs, like the past two days i was in the south, in Tyre, and yes the smoke is extensive just like in the pictures, and you know what, Israel deserves to be blasted for what they are doing, are they trying to show they are a stronger nation than Lebanon, we didnt need a war for that. Does it look like they have completed any of their objectives, no, besides killing civilians and blowing up bridges. Just to tell you, they blew up a couple of bridges, just for the hell of it, because there are at least 3 other ways, that are not longer to take, and this bridge was in the north, but still they found it fun. Please have some remote intelligence and tell me that you think Israel has overdone it, i dont think this war will end anytime soon, and the hate itself, especially in the south is growing, i like to think of myself as a moderate, i dont hold grudges, but then again none of my immediate family members have been hit by a shell. The images you see down there are scary and disgusting, and i like to ask myself what these people did to deserve this.
The media has not made Hizballah heroes either, its just that they have done less destruction with their 1000 missiles they have launched in 25 days, than Israel has in one night,.

You're so far off topic it's not even funny. I just accused you of posting here for your own purposes of propaganda, and you responded with a flood of randomness.

You can gripe all you want about the damage Israel has caused, but nobody here believes Hezbollah are fighting a defensive war for the prosperity of Lebanese soveriengty. More to the point - there's no need to fabricate lies if your cause is a just one. Victims don't feel the need to actively manipulate public opinion. You can watch Israel's rescue teams today to see what real compassion towards victims looks like when it's not posed. Your lack of outrage as a "photographer" speaks volumes. It's called integrity. I guess those "part of god" folks forgot to cover that lesson?

Ok, so the ISraeli rescue teams have integrity and the Lebanese ofcourse not, because they are not risking their goddamn lives in the south everyday, stroming houses to rescue the children and others.
I like that theory you have everything north of Israel is evil, with no integrity, and no rights to life, but everything in israel is holy.
That my friend is bias, you would be that photogrpaher manipulating pictures.

    Enough insincere grandstanding.

It's still comical you think this kind of lack of integrity is even a logical as a knee jerk response for me or for anyone. Shouldn't you take some baby steps, and admit these photos are dubious to begin with? They're fake. THEY cheapen every Lebanese death, and rescue - not me. You can't see that, because you're just as guilty when it comes to manipulation of facts to create sympathy that you're so sure this forum lacked. It's kind of like adding more fake smoke to a picture that already has smoke!!!!!!! WHY DO IT LUBNANI!?

Earlier you implied this was a war so Israel could show it was strong then Lebanon. Let me ask you... what did Nasrallah mean when he said

"If they (Jews) all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide. (Daily Star, Oct. 23, 2002)" ??

What does Ahmadinejad mean when he talks about a Final Solution for Israel?

What's this war really about, huh Lubnani?

It's Official: "Reuters drops freelance Lebanese photographer over image"

    Yoni45 was on to something.

[.. LONDON, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Reuters, the global news and information agency, told a freelance Lebanese photographer on Sunday it would not use any more of his pictures after he doctored an image of the aftermath of an Israeli air strike on Beirut.

The photograph by Adnan Hajj, which was published on news Web sites on Saturday, showed thick black smoke rising above buildings in the Lebanese capital after an Israeli air raid in the war with the Shi'ite Islamic group Hizbollah, now in its fourth week. ..]

    http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L06301298.htm

Now it turns out that this same photographer was "mysteriously" at Qana just in time to photoshoot the so-called "massacre".
