My intitial post and subsequant posts in this thread speak for themselves. You cannot address the real issues so you attemtp to dredge up old (and already much discredited) material in an effort to change the subject and uyltimatly get this thread shut down. I do hope others here - including the moderators can see the difference in the quality and intent of my contributions here and the mockery you make of a serious discussion forum. So Elin - what is your view on the punishment of genocide/holocaust collaborators...should such people who have taken part in the mass slaughter of human beings be allowed to function at high postions in government - such as Chief of Police of a major city...such as cabinet ministers in national government...and so on and so forth? Do you think that there is an obligation among the employing government to reveal codemn and punish these people? Or would it be Ok to shield them from justice and not admit their crimes...perhaps to make them into national heros and at the very least to forget and deny their crimes? Is this morally acceptable to you?

Is an apology warrented for racist remarks?

As anti-semitism is a form of racism it seemd aprpriate to post here. If it belongs someplace else then mods can move it - I have no problem with that.

The following is exerpted from the Roman Collusium thread. My issue is that I have been admonished for "attacking" Aviva and I don't see it this way at all. I was trying to post seriously in response to the issue of Jews not being the only ancient people that haven't assimilated and are here today that was originally brought up by Aviva. The way iIsee it is that I responded and was posting seriously in answer to what at the time I thought was a serious question - "In what way" - but the response I recieved was both flippant and IMO opinion insulting. I really think that I am owed an apology for this as it displays not only ignorance and disregard for my serious effort at answering the question and being informative but I see iher response as a racist attack against me and I would think that Jews might feel similarly as I do with the drunk insinuation and making such a comparison as to diminish etc. So I asked for an apology here (yet it is I who have been reprimanded and not her. All I want to ask in this poll is if you here think I am deserving of an aplogy for Aviva's comments in this thread (and of course any discusion is also welcome)/ Thank you for serious consideration of this issue.

The point is that the Jews are probably the only ancient civilisation that hasn't assimilated into the other nations and been lost.
