    Bishara affair to explode tomorrow?

This is still unconfirmed, it was posted anonymously at one of the Hebrew-language forums, but the true extent of the Bishara affair is expected to be exposed in the Israeli press tomorrow. The leaked details are absolutely shocking: he is expected to be accused of having received five million dollars from the Hizbullah, of helping the Hizbullah coordinate their missile attacks and correct their fire and of advising them which targets to fire upon.

Keep in mind: this is as of yet unconfirmed, on the level of a rumor. I will update this thread tomorrow or the day after, as soon as it becomes clear whether this information is correct.

Why does he need to be tech savvy to do that?

Bishara is a irrelevant, and has always been irrelevant. The problem is not Bishara. The problem is the Israeli system that allows Arabs into the government and puts them into positions that require loyalty and demand trustworthy individuals.

There's plenty of Arabs who fit that description, and there's plenty of Jews who don't.

By the way, there it goes as promised.

The double edge sword of Arab Politicians

This is such a complex issue, Israel is time and time again accused of not allowing the Arab minority a voice, but ironically when Israel allows the Arab minority a voice its voice is used directly in contradiction and opposing directions to Israel's benefit.

Where in the world would you have a democracy that would so welcome participation in a democratic process of a segment of people who basically are sworn to destroy Israel.

It may sound contraversial but I really do see it being necessary for all public servants and Public officials to swear an oath of allegiance to the State of Israel.

I know this could be misused, but its needed so as to wean out those that aren't willing to at least in the barest sense support Israel as a democratic state.

In a place where a ceasefire = peace, oaths are about as committal as playground promises. Orwell' nuspeak is probably based on a particular semitic language.

It's official: Bishara is suspected of directly aiding the enemy.

Bishara suspected of aiding Hizbullah for money

The gag order on the allegations made against former Knesset Member Azmi Bishara was lifted on Wednesday, three weeks after rumors began circulating regarding the investigation against him.

According to suspicions, Balad's chairman contacted a Hizbullah official during last summer's war in Lebanon and handed him information on strategic locations in Israel in order to enable the Shiite organization to fire rockets at these destinations. Bishara allegedly received hundreds of thousands of shekels in exchange for this information.

A joint Police-Shin Bet investigation has been carried out against Bishara in recent months. Bishara was questioned by the police on two occasions, and was asked to present his version of the affairs.

During his last questioning, the former MK informed the police he plans to leave the country for a few days, and never returned.

The police and Shin Bet suspect that the money Bishara received for his services to Hizbullah was transferred through Syria and Lebanon to three money changers in east Jerusalem. The three had already been investigated by the police, and one of them may become a state witness.

    Bishara's office, house searched

Following Bishara's resignation from the Knesset, his office at the Knesset building was sealed in order to prevent documents from being taken out of there.

Last week, Shin Bet and police officers arrived at Bishara's house in Haifa and collected documents that may assist in the investigation. On Monday, documents were gathered from his Knesset office as well.

The main suspicions against Bishara were cleared for publication last week.

Following the publication, Bishara gave an interview to the Al-Jazeera TV channel, and said, "Israel is trying to accuse me of security offenses. They object to the ideas I promote – like democratic thought, equality and a state for all its citizens, and therefore they claim that my actions were actually a cover for offenses against national security, or that I provided the enemy with information during a time of war."

Bishara dismissed the allegations as politically motivated and drummed up to avert the public's attention from Israel's leadership crisis following the results of the Second Lebanon War.

An oath, is just words coming out of one's mouth. It is only how much one is taking these words seriously, before letting them out his mouth, counts. And that, my friends, we cannot measure.
