1a-Why does Israel and the US allow the Hamas garbage stand in front of microphones and/or reporters in the open and give press conferences, taking claim for attacks, giving their opinions on policy, feelings about the weather, etc?
1b-why are hamas terrorists and their supporters allowed to demonstrate in Gaza in parades like they did this week celebrating the Hebrew University attack?
Shouldnt they simply be killed on sight? If israel is truly at war, why are they allowed to appear in public forums without the threat of due response?
2-why is it tolerated that at various events like the Arab summit in beirut in March news reporters give air time through interviews to spokesmen for terrorist organizations, like they did for hamas? My understanding is that for example in the US, when someone commits a heinous murder, the press doesnt run to the perpetrator to grant them equal air time to spout their views /opinions. No one in their right mind would possibly care what they have to say, indeed, they are shunned and ignored.
2 weeks ago in France, the attempted assasin of the French Prime minister wasnt granted interviews asking why he shot at Chirac it, so why does the press in the middle east give baby killers free press coverage, attempting to provide "balance" and thereby legitimizing the false struggle they are fighting? This seems to be, outside of rare instances of prison interviews with suspects like charles manson and david berowitz, the only times i can cite where the press anywhere in the world does this.
I would suggest it is due to questions 1a and b above where the press, taking its cue from Israel's own legitimization of these groups by refraining from attacking them, also then devalues israeli lives, and finds no journalistic moral quandary by interviewing them. The press must believe that if Israel felt its citizens' lives were really worth something, israel, like any other sane country, would simply crush these groups, regardless of civilian casualties, albeit kept to a fair minimum.
The humorous condemnations made by various parties last week of israel's strike are of little value, and should be of little interest to an israeli govt serious about stopping terrorism, whose first steps would require the outright destruction of any visible portion of it.
