    Proposed Jewish Flag for Sweden

I was looking for information on Swedish flags and noticed that a Jewish flag had been proposed for Swedish Jews. A little earlier yet another flag had been created for the Red Cross. Do you know more of these existing or proposed flags?

Multiculturalism at it's finest. Stupid idea. The Swedes are so pro-Palestinian, Swedish Jews are probably scared to death to fly the Israeli flag like most Jews in other countries do.

I dunno. It's a star. Even with 6 points it's still rather ambiguous. Perhaps if it had the word 'Jew' in Hebrew characters right in the middle. Seriously though what's Swedish for tact.

This is utter nonsense. If he doesn't like the Swedish flag, he should consider (strongly) moving to another place rather than fabricate something artificial, unnecessary and maybe even counter productive (see Medio's comment above)...

Reffo, who is "he"? In case you referred to me I have no opinion about the flag, except that I am against all flags that belong to one group of people only. For instance, it was not a particularly good idea to create a Red Cross flag with a Christian symbol, then another flag with an Islam symbol, another flag with a Jewish one... Now, I believe every other group in the world wants to have its own symbol and quite rightly so. The result is a terrible mess with countless symbols that no one knows.

It looks like the symbol that Jews were required to wear in the German concentration camps. Medio was right; this flag would be an affront to most Jews.

What was the symbol like? Can you find any pictures? This request is probably stupid for most of you, but I am a total outsider...

Incidentally, the yellow and blue colours in the proposed flag are quite natural, since they are the colours of the flag of Sweden.

Watch the first few minutes of this presentation, and you will see the glaring similarities.

I get your point, Varian. What would be a better symbol then?

I wasn't referring to you, Justcurious, I was referring to Natan Zlotnik ...

Not the Israeli flag, the Jewish flag. The design existed and was adopted long before Israel came to existence. It is a shame that some Jews forget that the flag is not just Israeli--it is theirs.

If I had a country to rule this might will be the flag I'd use. Or perhaps this one. I think they both let would be tourists, immigrants and naturalised citizens alike know where they stand, yet still retaining the element of fun.
