As for the latter proposal, it reminds me of somebody's dislike for punk rockers and of an interest in shooting (http://www.igudkliya.co.il/mainpage.aspx).

I'm not sure why one would want a Jewish flag for Sweden, but a Menorah, seven or nine branched, placed on a yellow background of a square or rectangle (not a yellow Magen David) would be a better symbol. It is uniquely Jewish in nature (e.g. Jews are to be a light to the nations), and it would still retain the main colors of the Swedish flag. This would not likely elicit bad memories like a yellow Magen David could.

I would have chosen the menorah for the Israeli flag too, instead of just using it as an emblem for the government.

Jews were ordered to wear yellow clothes by the Roman Church a long time ago... That's where the yellow color comes from... Read it in Jewish History of Italy by Cecil Roth...

Was it only jewish flag? As you may know some old Turkish Kingdoms used the star of david on their flag.

But you can also find it in a church or mosque.

"The earliest archaeological evidence for the Jewish use of the symbol comes from an inscription attributed to Joshua ben Asayahu in late 7th century BCE Sidon." -wiki

That said, the Zoroastrians used the symbol ("King's Star") as well, that is perhaps how you get it in the old Turkish/Turkic Kingdoms (I presume the Kazars most prominently), perhaps via the old silk route from the Parthian territories? I cant seem to get a good date for it's earliest manifestation (just cursory googling), perhaps Christian_Iran or Parsi have a clue about it?

Why do Swedish Jews need a flag? Is there a particular reason? How about a Swedish flag for Gaugasian Turks or Swedish Norwegians?

    Euros are idiots.
Mil - stands for the countless MILlions of reasons not to work.

I suppose they don't, but these Jews seem to have a strange feeling that they are one people and want to have something in common. Perhaps you'd like to give your suggestion to them?

I don't have any suggestions for them. Whoever came up with the idea is an idiot.

It has been used by many cultures and religions. I was actually talking about flags. It was used on flag of old Turkish Kingdoms (or principalities) like Karamanoğlu,Tekelioğlu,Candaroğlu....

Before it was solidly associated with Zionism (and mainstream Judaism), amongst Jews the Magen David was more so a mystical symbol; it could have been the same in the Turkish areas. Were the principalities of Karamanoğlu,Tekelioğlu,Candaroğlu all Sufi by any chance?

These things happen. For instance, the Nazi symbol was used earlier by the Finnish Air Force!

I have seen photos of World War I American aircraft with swastikas.
