Home | A red moon due to an eclipse (Lavanah) has been viewed as a bad omen for the nation of Israel. Anciently, a blood red moon symbolized violence, war, and evil factions rising up against the nation of Israel. A red moon has historically and 'scripturally' meant a period of judgment for the wicked. In history, many battles and wars coincided with an eclipse. Given the turmoil in the ME; any thoughts or insight on this subject?

I had never heard of a red moon until you mentioned it. I had heard of a red sky at night and in the morning and what they meant to shepherds.
Here's a nice shot of a red moon (they claim it's orange but it's clearly red) above Jerusalem's Old City.
As a youth I used to weep in butcher's shops.
Sailors have a similar saying:
Red sky at morning, sailor take warning;
Red sky at night, sailors delight.
