His story about his last time here is that everyone was mystically enraptured by his delivery. Maybe he hasn't had an audience do that since, so he wanted a return engagement to get the buzz again. Oh well, he does feel that he will bring about the return of the "12th Imam." Is there such a thing as a "pre-messianic (mahdi'ic) complex???

The Israel Project Launches New Ad Campaign in NYC to Spotlight Threat of Iran and Peaceful Resolution through Sanctions
"Imagine Manhattan under missile attack from nearby Westchester"

NEW YORK CITY -- The Israel Project (TIP), a non-profit educational organization, will launch a TV ad campaign in New York City on Saturday (Sept. 20) to highlight the danger of a nuclear Iran and the importance of a peaceful solution. The two TV spots will run while Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is in Manhattan for the UN General Assembly.
The ads will air on CNN, CNN’s Headline News, FOX NEWS, MSNBC, CNBC and other networks in the New York City area Sept. 20-25. The Iran spots were developed to raise awareness about Iran’s pursuit of nuclear technology in defiance of the international community, which has imposed sanctions on the regime and even offered incentives to persuade Iran to halt its uranium enrichment program.
The Israel Project is involved in a number of rallies emphasizing the need to stop the threat of a nuclear Iran. The events are taking place around the country on Sept. 22.

On Sept. 25, The Israel Project will hold a rally from 5 – 7 p.m. outside the Grand Hyatt Hotel on 109 East 42nd St. in New York City to encourage a peaceful solution to a nuclear Iran while Ahmadinejad is inside the hotel speaking at a dinner about “peace.” The event is sponsored by the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations; American Friends Service Committee; Mennonite Central Committee; Quaker United Nations Office; Religions for Peace; and World Council of Churches - United Nations Liaison Office. The Israel Project was informed that there was no space for its founder/president to attend the event. For information about other U.S. events to peacefully stop Iran, click here.
A recent bipartisan poll commissioned by The Israel Project released at the political conventions shows that Americans across the political spectrum see the Iranian regime as a threat to the U.S. Fully 85 percent of Democrats and 97 percent of Republicans believe Iran represents a serious threat to the U.S.
A total of 91 percent of U.S. voters agree Iran poses a threat to Israel; the percentage jumps even higher - to 96 percent - when respondents were asked whether a nuclear-armed Iran poses a threat to Israel. Another 83 percent view this threat as serious. Similarly, 87 percent of American voters say a nuclear-armed Iran poses a threat to the U.S.
Fully 90 percent of Americans believe Iran will likely share nuclear technology or materials with terrorist organizations if it obtained nuclear weapons. Additionally, 80 percent of Americans say it is likely Iran would use nuclear weapons if it acquired them. American voters oppose Iran’s development of a civilian nuclear research program, with 71 percent of the public strongly in favor of international efforts to prevent such a program.
In July 2007, The Israel Project sent a petition to stop Iran in its nuclear pursuits, signed by more than 75,000 people worldwide, to the U.N. secretary-general, the heads of state of almost every country in the world, the world’s religious leaders, U.N. and Washington ambassadors, every member of Congress and the governors of every state in the U.S. In the interim, however, little has been done to stop the Islamic Republic. The petition was unveiled at a press conference on Capitol Hill during which several U.S. presidential candidates released statements about the importance of stopping Iran's nuclear program.
“At that time we asked the world to work to stop the threat of a nuclear Iran,” said The Israel Project Founder and President Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi. “We sent all of these documents by registered mail so we know that they were delivered and that the world knows about the dangers of Iran - the largest state sponsor of terror that is now developing nuclear materials in defiance of the world. Next week, many of those leaders will be coming to New York for the UN General Assembly and it is urgent that they take this issue seriously before time runs out on peaceful solutions.”
The script of the TV ad about the threat of a nuclear Iran states:

Imagine Manhattan under missile attack from nearby Westchester.

Since 2005, Israel has been targeted by 8,000 rocket and missile attacks from Hamas and Hezbollah.

Iran has helped fund, train and arm these terrorist groups.

A nuclear Iran is a threat to peace, emboldens extremists …and could give nuclear materials to terrorists with the ability to strike -- anywhere.

The world’s leaders can peacefully prevent a nuclear Iran. The time to act is now.

(To view the ad, click here)
The script of the ad advocating increased sanctions against Iran states:

Iran is arming, funding and training terrorists that are killing Americans and destabilizing the Middle East.

Iran is tripling its uranium enrichment and President Ahmadinejad said Iran will share nuclear technology.

Both the French President and German Chancellor agree that Iran is a threat and that it is unacceptable for Iran to have a nuclear weapon.

Isn’t it time for the US to use strong economic diplomacy to peacefully stop Iran’s nuclear program?

TIP print ad (click here to expand)

The Israel Project aired similar ads at the Denver and Republican national conventions. In addition, TIP ran a print campaign with informational fliers that the organization distributed at both conventions.

The front of the nuclear Iran flier showed a photo of Ahmadinejad, posing the question, “Just one man’s opinion?” The other side states, “Actually, it’s government policy” and explains that support for terrorist groups, Iran’s avid pursuit of nuclear technology and hatred of Israel and the West are doctrine shared by the highest echelons of the Iranian government. It also contains quotes by Iranian leaders backing their doctrine in their own words. A second piece about Iran shows a ticking bomb in which time is running out and explains the dangers of a nuclear Iran.

Do you feel that the refusal of Hillery Clinton and the invitation to Sarah Pakin having been withdrawn will take away from the impact of this event? One of Obama's fund raisers is rumored to have offered a reception for Ahminajad. If true, that wouldn't that be counterproductive as well? What have you heard about any other well known politicos showing up to speak out about this whack job?

Re: Ahmadinejad is coming back to New York

No actually I don't. I think these protests are important but they don't lead to any dramatic results either way. I do not believe that either President Obama nor President McCain would ever meet face to face with Iran given the current conditions. Despite what either of them has said in the past.

And the President of Iran can be greeted like a hero by the entire staff and student population of Columbia university. It doesn't change anything. None the less it's important to shout him down and protest against him. It's important to shame the hell out of anyone who supports a government that hangs children from cranes in public for the crime of fighting off rape, w/o a trial. It's important to show the Iranian government side by side with the idiots here who support him. It's important for racist monsters to admit that's what they are.
