40 percent of Gaza residents wish to emigrate

Interesting poll, though I'm not sure how 40% qualifies as "most residents."
It would be in Israel's interests to subsidize the emigration of these poor unhappy people.

    By The Associated Press

A Palestinian poll released on Thursday showed that most residents of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip wish to emigrate, compared to 25 percent in the West Bank...

They should. I hear the tunnels are wide open for them to get out to Egypt. And they are still welcome in quite a few places in N. Africa.

Of course, we can have no doubts that the article lied about more than just calling 40% a majority, since it's obvious and well-known that when they say "immigrate", they mean immigrate to the West.

    Why? What's wrong with Hamas?

Should Isarel take them in? Are these the same people that voted for Hamas?

They are un-repatriated Egyptian citizens, their only place is in Egypt.

No, that would be demographic suicide for Israel. By the way, 40% of Gaza and 25% of the West Bank population is roughly 1.2 million people (roughly 30% of the population in the territories).

I imagine some voted for Hamas and some didn't.

Does it make a difference how many people it is?

I didnt' vote for Obama. Should I demand exemption from his taxes and the laws he may propose?

Not to me. My original point was that we should encourage voluntary Arab emigration.

Steven asked me if these people seeking to emigrate support Hamas. My only point was that some do and some don't. Don't try to read anything more into that.

I wish we could do a swap for all neighboring Christians and Druse and other friendly minorities with these hate mongers. House for house. Initially the fakistinians would be very well off, ultimately we would benefit. I wonder how many Egyptian Copts would opt for a house swap in Gaza with our protection and citizenship? Or how may Leb Maronites and Druse for our fakestinians in the triangle and Samaria.

Why would they do that? They would love to throw them out and the Jews. They won't settle for less and the fact that it hasn't happened yet is not for lack of trying Look how they destroyed Lebanon.
