Only thing you have not factored in is the fall of the Arab regimes to the Islamists who are preparing as we speak from London to Cairo to overthrow the Arab rulers.

. Which one of these have a sustainable country: Sudan, Somalia, Iran, Taliban run Afghanistan. Add to that decline in oil prices, and general availability of oil (we are past peak now, 50 years hence they will be pumping dust) what we get to is: social implosion, on the scale of sub Saharan Africa.

Other thing is that Syria is too clever to give away a pretext for a full scale attack on them.

I'm a big believer in clear headed and appropriate reciprocity . I'm much more for multi front insurrection than any blunt on Israel led attack. 50 mil to Druse, and Kurds from us, 1 billion from Saudis to Sunnis, and you can say goodbye to Syria.

But Obama is the biggest weakness. He has a full series of 'Love Is' on his bookshelves, open on the 'Embrace a Muslim and show you care'' page.

What Obama makes is a vacuum ultimately. Once the shite (excuse my language) hits the fan, you wont see him in the ME at all. I just hope that the US signs up for a full embargo of Iran, meaning oil blocade, everything else can be done locally IMHO.

Thanks Bararallu, I think I see where your coming from now. And Maven, I have been thinking for a long time that Israel has been used as a distraction by arab rulers to keep the general populations eyes off the fact that their rulers are screwing them blue. That happens in each and every muslim country that has oil....where does the lion's share of the oil profit go? Not to the general citizenry, I assure you. And Obama? He wouldn't know what a foreign policy was if it bit him in the ass. He's a babe in the woods who's entire focus is on creating a socialist government in the USA. He has no idea about anything beyond our shores. (He MAY know the ocean is wet)
