    New Suggestion on Ending Hamas

I suggest the Americans, not us, set up a 5 mile wide by 20 miles (not looking) buffer zone along the Siani border monitoring what and who goes in and out. Additionally the US should be a part of the blockade of Gaza port making sure only the right stuff enters by sea.

Because Gaza is so narrow maybe the US will need a hundred soldiers keeping this border tunnel proof.

Israel could pay for funding this.

Without being able to rearm Hamas will disappear as the people will seek to improve their lives taking advantage of their tax free status.

A case can be made that less foreign aid will be needed for us and Egypt because of one front of terrorism disappearing.

A cost-benefit long term solution can be proposed. A good 5 year plan.

    Your thoughts?

I've been suggesting a US presence in Israel for years.

No. I'll be paying taxes for something that directly benefits my country in the same way that military bases in every other corner of the globe do.

There are already American troops in Egypt. It's on the QT as part of the 1.3 billion in military aid we give them. But it's an explosive issue for the Egyptians. It would end up another Beirut barracks bombing soon enough and we would leave.

Hummus is easier than dealing with Tehina.

100 US troops max in a fortified 20 mile by 5 mile bunker. What's the big deal?

Blue Helmets aren't worth the MRE's needed to feed them.

Well, at least it's acting like something is getting done, when nothing that could be done, would get anything done, anyway...

No way we'd accept any UN personal to defend that thin border line. Working like a charm in Lebannon.

100 US soldiers can do the trick. A few life size posters in the background will make it seem like 300.

I propose we pay for it (with old Israeli shekels).

I'm all for it, but the quasi-friends of Israel, here, would put on a stink like you wouldn't believe about "OUR BOYS" feet on the ground soliders in the middle east, blah blah blah.....

They've been trying to draw the US into combat situations of the conflict since the early 60's. Why do you think this has been the sexual fantasy of every anti-Israel kook around?
