I've written longer pieces, Maven, but on a forum readers might well behave a la 'Airplane' characters - suicidal with boredom

Along with the 10,000 muslims bit - apparently the number Muhammed roused - I've also (belatedly, I'm sure ) discovered that 11th September 1683 (I think that's the year) was the defeat of the Muslims at the Gates of Vienna.

The way I see it unless our leaders wise up and especially our leaders in Israel then the jackboots of radical Islam will continue to increase to the point that we will have a new Muslim empire which God forbid will include Israel.

Sharona, My niece is in the US Air Force and is now stationed in Germany, along with her British husband. They met while training to "fly" the Predator. Ironically my closest gal friend is a Brit, now a US citizen, so I guess the family generally likes the British. My friend's husband is American, and they still visit family in the UK and always return with the most chilling stories about how things are changing there, and in their opinion, changing for the worst. I know it distresses her terribly and I must be careful not to transfer that feeling to Keven, though from time to time I do send him articles alluding to trouble on the home front and his comments confirm that.

I can not imagine how it must feel to believe your country's culture and soul is being lost to something as alien as Islam. I have enough trouble here with the liberals. It is telling though that in a very long conversation with three British Air attendants aboard a flight back to the US from Israel their feeling about this is that it is a REAL PROBLEM and they fault Labor, liberals and the onset of socialism in their country. Exactly what I see happening to America.

Sharona and Maven, I do see this the same way. As a Christian "Zionist" I guess I must call myself, because I am joining everything dedicated to assisting Israel protect itself from everything thrown at them from everywhere. Sunday night I attended a "Night to Honor Israel" at one of those mega-churches through the group "Christians United for Israel" started by Pastor John Hagee, and he was the speaker. There were literally thousands of people there and it was enormously inspiring. "We" raised $75,000 and donated it to Israel to place bomb proof shelters in the south of Israel to protect Israeli's from Hamas rockets shot in from Gaza.

A little good news on the fight against terrorism of all sorts!

It certainly is good news It would be nice to attend such a rally.

In truth, I don't think we have any real idea what 'everyone' thinks of Cast Lead. We may have the odd person on a forum or a newscaster saying 'the world condemns....etc. etc', but from a philosophical standpoint, that type of certainty is impossible.

If the BBC is anything to go by, the condemnation of 'The World' is as much a piece of propaganda as everything else they give out.

Well, I think that when most people actually stop to think about the state of things, they realise we're paddling the canoe down a certain creek.

What most are looking for is how to remedy it. Faith in governments has gone, and my belief is that it is 'spin' that has created such distrust. Also, the parties have all blended into one another so that none appear to be saying anything different - and what they do say is not relevant to the concerns of the people.

A few years ago the flag of St George was deemed racist; that must seem an outrage to an American but it was used by the National Front (skinhead yobs, really) and so the association shifted from the English flag to one which stood for fascism. However, all it took was a campaign by a little-known English DJ and almost everyone responded. Now the flag is fluttering again.

I think most of us who want to reclaim the UK are looking for some kind of spokespeople or groups. I see the odd person make suggestions towards the creation of such a group but they get no real response.

On Melanie Phillips blog, for example, one person suggested that we come up with a symbol that we wear as a badge and which stands for one word 'Enough!'. Eventually, people would comment on the badge and gradually word would get round until the masses who'd had enough were all wearing a badge. Although I suspect you'd need a manifesto of sorts to explain what you'd had 'Enough!' of.

The working out of such a manifesto would require an organised group; it's a tough one to take on single-handed.

I guess what one calls Terrorism, another calls Patriotism...

Sad to hear the whole conflict is still festering in the hearts of some Irish

You can go to the website www.cufi.com. This organization's members are Christians and Jews, and was started by Pastor John Hagee. It can give you an idea of what they do and scheduled events in America. I've attended two events now, one at a synagogue here in Tampa. So maybe at your place of worship in the UK they may have news of the Evangelical thought.

Another speaker at Sunday's event was Israeli Counsul General, Ofer Bavly, who speaks only about a dozen languages, and was so charming and gave a wonderful address.

We do have quite an advantage here because we do have Fox News on cable and they are much more conservative in their view point, though they unfailingly have one of the liberal talking heads to give the points that we could easily find on every one of the other MSM and cable news networks. But until about ten years ago we got essentially the kind of crap that comes out of the the BBC (in fact I can also watch that on at least two of the Public Broadcasting stations. I happen to like the network from Germany for European news, knowing that the BBC is awful). There as a web site you could go to that I like to see if that gives you any help: www.littlegreenfootballs.com, it also has most of the conservative, and pro-Israel websites that you can just click on and it takes you there.
