I always feel guilty posting on Shabbat or at least a little bit uneasy but I still do it! I wondered if we could run a little poll to see how other members feel about it?

I visit/don't post--though I have no issue with either!
I visit but try not to post on Shabbat.
"If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand wither, let my tongue cleave to my palate if I do not remember you, if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy." (Ps. 137: 5-7)"
"Any generation in which the Temple is not built, it is as if it had been destroyed in their times" (Yerushalmi, Yoma 1a).
Why be a hypocrite about it.....I'm sitting in shul either.
Sorry but this is the kind of superstition I just find hilarious ..like friday 13th nonsense. Was the Law given with the intention to scare people away from God or to bring them closer? I hope you will not have a bad dream where you were typing on the Shabbat and being caught while someone chopped your hands off..
Thanks Mosche and Dayag....now I really feel guilty. In future I will try not to eat the forbidden fruit!![]()

Surely it depends on your upbringing somewhat.
What's the halacha about this anyway? As long as you keep the computer on over Shabbat, rather than switch it on and off, as I understand it, typing isn't the same as writing (in a halachic sense). So some Orthodox people would claim it breaks Shabbat, whilst others would claim it technically doesn't.
I rather think it probably breaks the spirit of Shabbat, although we don't discuss work on this forum, do we. But we do discuss "non-peaceful" things, so visiting here doesn't constitute Shabbat Oneg. Chatting to a relative or friend online on Shabbat would though, in my opinion. It's the next best thing to being with them physically and wishing them a Shabbat Shalom.
C'mon, how is inquisitive eyes any different from typing fingers? Reminds me of that muslim who raised the glass with a napkin and claimed he never touched the alcohol.
You gotta keep yourself small. Innocuous. Be the little guy...just look at me; underestimated from day one.

Hey Maven,
Unlike Dayag--he's a bit soft--I meant to make you feel guilty! What I was actually thinking was that you are headed for the fire pits of hell! Moreover, there's a big skewer with your name on it, and a scarey fella in a red suit with a pointy tail and a pitch-fork is licking his chops waiting for a BBQ dinner!![]()
