    IsraelForum on Twitter!

Well, I've got to admit that I don't really see the enormous benefit in using Twitter. It's kind of just the 'status' from FaceBook, but...

These days, Twitter is the hottest Social networking buzzword, so for those of you who use Twitter, you can now follow the Israel Forum at:

Twitter shmitter! All this stuff is beyond me where it can stay. I'll not be signing up to facebook ever! I cried when I buried my typewriter, it was a freezing day and the shovel buckled on the hard ground. It was as bad as the day when I donated my fountain pen and bottle of Quink ink to a museum. Progress? Bah!

    I hear you...

Twitter is pretty much useless for most people, unless someone likes to use social networking on their mobile phone.

But Facebook is a completely different story. I finally gave in to peer pressure to sign up a few months ago, and now I love it. I'm amazed by the people I've reconnected with.

Well in that case I will grant it is worthwhile. I'm just struggling to emerge from the eighteenth century I suppose.

Facebook is like an overextended junior high school reunion. I mean how many times can one reminisce about the 6th grade science teacher falling down the stairs with the frogs landing on her head? Or who had a crush on whom? Or who pummeled whom in the school yard. Oh yeah... baby pictures and pet talk. nuff said.

A former class-mate whom you have not seen in 20 years has requested to be your friend.

There's a damn good reason why you've not seen them in 20 years.

Twitter on the other hand has its uses, mostly business.
As a youth I used to weep in butcher's shops.

    Be carefull out there:

    Terrorists recruit Israelis on Facebook

Terror groups are turning to Israeli citizens on Facebook and other social networking sites and offering bribes in exchange for information, the Shin Bet [Israel Security Agency] said on Monday afternoon in a warning issued to the public.

Just one more way to screen out all those people who need something of you. For work alone I have email, blogs, Wikis, online conferencing, IM & phones. None of which get me to people faster than before and usually just provide another way to be ignored by people who don't want to be bothered.

Good that Newsguy is pushing forward the fronteirs, that is how to keep the forum fully up to date and relevant to younger people. As for me I'm off to saddle my horse to deliver an email.

I find Linkedin and Plaxo far more valuable for business. If they somehow merged and had a great CRM built in and, combined, cost less than say 10 bucks a month per person, it would be a super hit IMHO.

We absolutely need to know that Ashton bought a new pair of saucy knickers for Demi at 3:15 this afternoon on a sunny day with 56% humidity while feeling oddly depressed and sipping on his 15 dollar latte

I want all these guys in virtual Burqas immediately if not sooner.

If I hear any more reference to tweets and twittering on CNN I shall shoot my TV set.
