From news article: Overall, the French do not view Israel favorably. More than a third (35%) of French respondents said they viewed Israel unfavorably, while just a fifth (21%) said they viewed the country in a positive light.
Similarly, the Palestinians enjoy nearly twice as much support (27%) as the Israelis (14%), though the largest group of respondents (32%) said they did not support either side.
It is not surprising, therefore, that a large majority of the French disapproved of Israel's Operation Cast Lead in January: 77% opposed the action, while just 3% said they "strongly approved" of it.
Well since many are anti-Semitic, doesn't it makes sense that they wouldn't want Jews to fight back or defend themselves and would support the ones fighting the Jews? I don't see what's contradictory here.

There seems very little news coming out of France regarding the trial of the self named "Band of Barbarians", and their leader Yousouf Fofana for the murder of Ilan Halimi. Why is the Jewish community there allowing this to be so hushed up. The article in Debkafile reports that because 2 of the 26 are minors it is being held behind "closed doors". So 24 of those morons are not minors. Are they Muslim? France doesn't seem to understand it has a Muslim problem, and only now admits anti-Semitism is a problem? How convenient they can "hush up" the cold blooded murders of beautiful Jewish people. I wonder just what they tell themselves? How do you cope with the fact soon it won't matter, because your country will be taken over by the band of butchers and you've allow it to happen without lifting one little socialist finger. What a pathetic bunch of losers, the French. They deserve the fate they are getting. And Muslims won't even be enjoying that great wine!

Yes, this heinous crime has huge Media coverage in France, to the extent that the defendant's lawyers requested a court appearance of the French Defense Minister Michele Alliot-Marie for alleged infringement of the accused's rights. Pathetic but true

No clear-cut answers to this very messy affair yet. When you cannot figure out the facts, one course of action is to grant the benefit of the doubt to all parties involved. I am not updated but this story was challenged by CRIF and many other French journalists. But you are right,
it dragged on and the damage was irreparable. whatever the outcome, it will always be too little too late.
