    A vagabond am I , A vagabond am I.

or am I in the horizon, a star in the sky.

    A vagabond am I.

No home nor hearth, not a roof above.

I do not have anyone to love

No wish to meet anyone on the other Side

I do not have anyone to love

of a desolate city and a unknown road, the beloved am I

    A vagabond am I......

If I have prospered not, destroyed I'd rather be

Yet I sing the songs full of happiness and glee

I do have a wounded soul and body

But a smile in my twinkling eyes you can see

    World!

World I am slain by thy slings or the arrows of outrageous Fortune!!!!

    A vagabone am I.

I did some research why Turkey likes that song from 'Awaara'.
    ----
The movie Awaara inspired a whole genre of films produced in Turkey.

Remade starring Sadri Alisik and Ajda Pekkan in Turkiye. The remake was named "Avare" and released in 1964.

I don't want to spoil the party, there'z certainly progress in India, but the overwelming majority of Indians are still very poor, without acces to educatin, good health facilities, clean water, etc. and I don't think that the appalling poverty I saw everywhere, even in Mumbai, has disappeared in a few years. I think the images you gave (especially the last ones ) are not entirely representative of India, and that's an understatement...
It reminds me of Bollywood or Egyptian movies, totally unrelated to daily reality .
I respect Indian culture and they are (most of them) honest and hard workers, and they come from very far, but some people here call Russia, Iran or China hellholes, whereas these countries (especially Russia) clearly have much higher living standards. I agree their cultural heritage and spirituality may not be as diverse and rich as India's.

India is poor and we have lot of population so the poverty will remain for a long time.

We were looted for 200 years. Before British conquered India, we contributed +20% of the world trade and was the most advanced country in the World.

What is High Living Standards ? Is it stuff like buying Diapers for a Baby....

Even i am rich compared to others but still maintain my poor living standards....

That is very nicely stated, Shravan.
Poverty compared to what? It does not take away from the beauty of your Country, not the fact that it is, after all, a Democracy.
A friend of mine travels quite frequently, helps to educate for new business developments. I have seen many pictures of all parts and all ways of life, and it shows perhaps a different way of living that some are used to. Yet people seem to be content with what they have at the moment.

    Sentinelese of Sentinel Islands.

Inhabitants of North Sentinel Island, they are the world's only Paleolithic people surviving today that have remained aloof from outside world and have no contacts with any other group or community.

I think whenever the majority of the population has to scratch to make ends meet everyday, and lives in a house without clean water or electricity, it's a poor country. 50 years ago China was poorer than India, now it is better off. I think at least one thing the Chinese managed well and Indians didn't is the population expansion.

They look completely like Africans, that's weird. The first homo sapiens were Africans.

Yet I bet you most Indians, and nearly all Africans, if they had a choice, would prefere to live the western way. Poverty is not fun. It may seem idyllic on pictures but in reality it's nasty. I know Kenya very well, Kenyans are most certainly not content with what they have at the moment, and they know very well how we live in the West. If all Kenyans would receive visa for the US or Europe, Kenya would be empty. India might be different because of strong religious beliefs. If you think this life is for suffering and you next life will be better, than you don't mind so much the poverty.
India is a democracy, so is Kenya, but if you don't have anything that's the least of your worries. And both in India and Kenya there is a strong clientelistic system(for example: if this neighbourhood votes for me, I'll help them to install a sewer system in this neighbourhood or improve the roads), as in all poor countries, which undermines democracy and creates lots of corruption.

If a person does not have electricity & stays in a remote place you will call them poor.

And we the rich dudes pay huge sums money to visit Jungles and Mountain Climbing just to experience that. Who is poor ?

Clean water is the problem in the cities where all the stupid people like us come together to work and make money.

You really don't know anything about China. And both countries have a huge population and there will be +20% poverty in both the countries. It cannot be removed.

China & India are able to provide 2.5 Billion people with food daily. And its not a easy task for even the most developed country. Think about it.
