rather the second one. You can see that Hesbollah and Iran use the Palestinian issue as legitimation for its aggression against Israel. The Palestinian issue is also a very sensible one across the Arab world. Once that's solved, it will undermine the legitimacy of organisations as Hesbollah and Hamas, as well as the Iranian foreign policy in the Middle East. Also president Assad said during an interview on BBC that there cant be real peace in the region without a final deal between Israel and palestine, which he would be ready to support if Israel disengages from Golan at the same time.

It's an illusion to think that you can keep the Westbank and Eastern Jerusalem occupied forever while at the same time achieving normalisation of the relations with the Arab world. The Palestinian question is the core issue, and everything else (Hezbollah, Iran, Hamas, etc.) evolved from that problem.

It is NOT compromise that the Palestinian Arabs want. They want to dictate terms. Israel tried compromise with them long ago but that was NOT good enough for the Palestinian Arabs. And now, with Obama behind them (or at least that's how they perceive it), they are positively out for blood, Israel's blood ....

Re: Now, I just expected this one..

And, it is a good topic.

Let see....Isreal trained our men in the Civil War. And, America supported them militarily. But, when Reagon did the pull out, so did Isreal....WHEN OUR MEN WERE WINNING.

Bush Sr....Jim Baker, sold us for the 1992 Gulf War to Syria, and took a blind eye.

I guess my point, is world politics...let Hezbollah grow. Isreal loves it, because they get how much money from USA per year?

Hezbollah is now ENTRENCHED in LEB politics and SYSTEM. If you ask normal ppl on the street....they can't stand them. BUT, politics will aways OUTWEIGH the norm.

Now, what is sad...VERY SAD...is NEytanyahu KNOWS all this stuff...and he goes on TV, and makes another propaganda speech.

HE IS NO DUMMY! PPL are!

If the world wanted to get rid of Hezbollah...they would ARM the LEB military, etc. But we get 2nd class old crap. Syria gets better. Hell, Iran gets better.

But they won't. Have u ever asked why? I believe MONEY!

OK....I am very tired...I wish u all well....but...we Lebs are stuck with them. What...u think we are going to take kitchen knives and win a war with Hez? Naw....I'd rather hit a night club.

You guys have to understand....you put them there....and frankly...I just want to live. If they come to my neighborhood....we shoot them. That is about it. THey know that. Lebanese chrisitans are not like your pal chrisitan.

We will have another Black Sat...if they come.

Give Netyahu a message from Lebanese......You put them there...so deal with them. And Up yours. What....he thinks he talks to dummies? This guy is old, old news. He wants to be a sharon...but SHARON was even worshiped by Lebanese. He is NO SHARON! He is a scratch of him.

    Luv ya....OB!~

First and foremost, please dont misspell the name of my country. It's IsraEL, as in EL the god of the Lebanese, some 3000 years ago. Capiche? Now... are you even serious to make this sort of statement OB? We give you a lot of slack around here, because generally we are in fact on the same side of this balagan. But please dont mistake that for acceptance of this canard. I personally wont let you slide this sort of Arab conspiracy bs... past us. It's always the Jews fault, we get it.

No, we do not love it. We hate the Hizbullah and Syria. But we are in a tough spot regarding the Americans, as are many of it's client/allied states. Ask the Indians about it... for instance. Now, believe it or not the Americans are the ones that want us on that dole... it is the primary way they leverage the "special relationship." It is their way to keep a leash on Israel. I, among many on this forum and most of Israelis I know, are against all loans, all grants, from the US. I'm against the first supposed peace treaty with Egypt that established this nonsense... via Carter/Brzezinski machinations.

So please stop with the crap.

Netanyahu is right in warning Lebanon about Hizbollah activities and stockpiling rockets and munitions. In fact, not only should Israel warn Lebanon. Syria should be forewarned as well that should one Hizbollah rocket fall on Israel, Damascus will be toast. Those responsible for supporting Hizbollah either financially or logistically should bear the responsibility of any aggression by those terrorists.

    Re: Netanyahu Warns Lebanon

    Hello
Well, this is interference, why have Israeli leaders been threatening Lebanon for the past few weeks? Is this not considered as provoking? The South has been calm, yet Israel insists on creating fears and threatening to destroy -- They worry about Hezbollah joining the government, this is an internal matter, Israel can't decide or influence who joins the Lebanese government and who doesn't! Hezbollah is in the end, a Lebanese political party, who enjoys support from a considerable portion of Lebanese people, not because they love or want war, but for other reasons, and their opinions cant be dismissed or eliminated by force...

What about the countless radical/extremist Israeli politicians who join the Israeli government, what about when Ariel Sharon was made prime minister, while everyone knows his dark history?

I'm no saying I want a war with Israel, but from what I am seeing, from what I am hearing, Israel is the one who is provoking and is scaring people

    Re: Netanyahu Warns Lebanon

HA's manifesto is to destroy Israel and replace it with Al Quds Palestine. If HA become part of the Lebanese gov't then that manifesto will be the official stance of Lebanon. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

PS - No Israeli politician has a stance or platform against Lebanon so you can't compare the 2.

History keeps repeating itself in the M.E, only with weapon becoming more deadly over time.

A sad affair for the peace-loving citizens of lebanon. Hezbollah is Syria and Iran's proxy whose primary and ultimate goal is the elimination of Israel. It is only fair to warn someone against letting the wolf enter the sheepfold.
