    Will I have trouble...

    Would I have trouble immigrating to Israel if I was an ex-federal employee? I've been contacting the F.B.I's Linguistics department who's willing to give me a grant to major in Hebrew at Ohio State University given that I work at the FBI for at least four years afterwards. This was a grand idea to me before I came across the thought that I might have trouble immigrating to Israel if I had been an ex-Federal employee.

    ...?

    You may have issues in the States, being a fed, not in Israel.

    So the process will be easier in Israel than in the states? I'm just wondering if I'll come into conflict with me working as a federal employee from one nation then immigrating into another.

    The short answer is no it shouldn't make much difference unless you are vetted for a specific security clearance.

    There is no process in Israel save for proving your Jewishness really.

    That's where I might run into problems, because the only Jewish blood in me comes from an ex-Orthodox ancestor who left Judaism to marry an American Protestant Christian ( my Grandfather's Great Grandfather ).

    I am a member of messianic Jewish congregation, which unfortunately, doesn't count under Israeli law. The process would be easier if I could be eligible for Aliyah, but I'm not.

    It's all up the immigration ministry to decide really. I'm going to be someone with distant Jewish descent with a ( hopefully ) Doctorates in the Hebrew language. And technically, under the Israeli Constitution ...

    I definitely won't...
    * engage in activity directed against the Jewish people;
    * endanger public health or the security of the state;
    * have a criminal past, likely to endanger public welfare.
    As well as...
    Adults may acquire Israeli citizenship by naturalization at the discretion of the Minister of the Interior and subject to a number of requirements, such as:
    # they must have resided in Israel for three years out of five years preceding the day of submission of the application;

    # they are entitled to reside in Israel permanently and have settled or intended to settle in Israel;

    # they have renounced their prior nationality, or have proved that they will cease to be foreign nationals upon becoming Israeli citizens.

    If you have Jewish Blood they will consider it. If you dont you can move to Russia and then to Israel as a "Russian Jew". Just kidding.

    If you are planning to try to spread your faith in the Holy Land, then please stay in Ohio. We have enough "Jews for Jesus" missionaries in Israel, thank you very much.

    "If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand wither, let my tongue cleave to my palate if I do not remember you, if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy." (Ps. 137: 5-7)"

    My motivation to live and die in Israel is not bound by any missionary work. I find it kind of disgusting that a bigot like you would keep someone like me from entering Israel solely on my religious beliefs. What makes you any better than the Muslims who keep people from entering their country if they have an Israeli visa stamp on their passport?

    Sounds like you might have a complicated journey ahead of you - not because of your work with the FBI, but because you are ineligible to immigrate under the Law of Return. To be honest I've never met a person who acquired Israeli citizenship by naturalisation (which would be your only option), so I have no idea how difficult it is.

    How do they convert Jews to Christianity ?
    Mountain look very spectacular from distance. Prostitutes look very beautiful when they make-up. War stories are very interesting. All these three things are interesting from distance.

    No, I'm a seventeen year old High School student who's preparing for University. I plan to go to University to get a degree in Hebrew language and literature. Then after my four years, I'll actually plan on immigrating to Israel.

    No religious motivations whatsoever.
