From this inexperienced and quited ignorant 17 year old's perspective, 5 things are clear:

1. Iran will not be allowed to get the bomb.
2. Obama is not going to take any initiative relating to #1 anytime soon.
3. Israel is under pressure from the Obama Admin not to act.
4. Iran will do anything to get a nuclear weapon.
5. We are almost out of time.

Alright, so we have a radical regime motivated by an imperialistic religion about to obtain a nuclear weapon. This nuclear weapon renders them immune from any attacks the U.S. & Israel might be able to pull off in order to destabilize the country, and it also gives credibility to their threats and baseless demands.
We (the west) have less than a year to act, and yet we are still pussyfooting around the negotiating table. WTF. Someone tell me what alternative there is other than demolishing all nuclear research sites within the country. Do we really think that sanctions and secluding them is going to do crap?

I am just curious as to what alternative Obama is hoping is giong to fall into his lap in between now and zero hour.

The real hope is in the real people dying in the streets and prisons of Iran ....as we speak. Just because it's not on the 6 0'clock news every night and the mullahs have made every effort to pull a blanket over the rebellion building there , doesn't mean it ain't happening....and is very nasty. There are lots of Persians that view islam as "the arab invasion" and call the latest "revolution" as "The second arab invasion". They want to kick them (the mullahs) out....so that may, or may not, precipitate a push to finish a workable nuke weapon.....then, again, things may escalate into full blown rebellion....wouldn't that be peachy?

I'm in favor of attacking now and whereas once we are showing a conventional attack we do the unexpected and set off an EMP blast over their country that sends them back to the stone age. Pulled off quickly the world will be unable to stop us. It'll put the whole of Iran in chaos and the world will have to deal with it or not. Irans terrorism funding will dry out and rebuilding will be far more complex.

We will be condemned every way you look at it. No country will seek a reprisal militarily against us. The deed will have been done. An EMP blast doesn't kill on the blast but kills because it destroys the technological infrastructure modern countries depend upon.

The Saudis will be cheering us in closed quarters.

Of course if we do not do anything now that scenareo can very well happen to us.

And no one would complain until Israel responded in kind, which would of course be condemned as a war crime. But if the US created a policy statement ahead of time stipulating that an attack by Iran's proxies is an attack by Iran it would at least put them on notice that such niceties like the gibberish of so called international law would, in cases of national survival, be meaningless and swatted aside.

Actually Iranian bomb is not intended for Israel - it's more of a geopolitical instrument to do two things:
1. Increase Iran's regional geopolitical power and legitimacy
2. Strengthen the regime

Trust me countries like Israel, India, China, Pakistan, etc. cannot use Nuclear threats. And i can bet with anyone here that Iran cannot threat any other country with Nuclear Weapons once its gets Nuclear Weapons.

Every country has is own Nuclear Signature and its known to other countries.
It only takes less than a week to know from where the Nuke came.

Eg.

If a terrorists explodes a Nuclear Bum in America and the signature shows it came from Pakistan. Irrespective of who (even if the bomber was a Indian) used the Nuclear Bum, America is going to strike Pakistan not India.

OIL??? WHAT THE HELL WILL WE DO ABOUT IRANIAN OIL. Surely if someone attacks them, they will cut off the flow, meaning that some other country will go in and take countrol of the fields... another Iraq!

Could someone explain the role oil is going to pla in this situation? By situation, I mean any agressive acts towards Iran.
