The cartoon would have been better if they had named the characters properly.
Mountain look very spectacular from distance. Prostitutes look very beautiful when they make-up. War stories are very interesting. All these three things are interesting from distance.

I think that most people (Indian or not) would rather be associated with Apu than with the insane "orange" people- Homer, Smithers, Joe, Byrns, Bart.. er the sisters...
