The way to do this is attack the advertisers *and* the VC people that funded the site. Labeling it hate site in every self respecting Jewish publication is a start.
As bad as some of the articles are on the Huffington Post, the comments section is infinitely worse.
"If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand wither, let my tongue cleave to my palate if I do not remember you, if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy." (Ps. 137: 5-7)"
"Any generation in which the Temple is not built, it is as if it had been destroyed in their times" (Yerushalmi, Yoma 1a).
Thing is there is no reason to separate the two. It's a managed site. It's owned by someone, and not chaos like indymedia. So Arriana and her sponsors need to pay the price for platformizing Jew Hate.
The 3 main websites of the left, The Daily Kos, Salon and HuffPo are all extremely anti-Semitic under the guise of being against Israeli policy. They all have a few token Jewish writers as fig leaves. Bleh.
"It is cheap to attack Israel. I am certainly not going to make a cheap attack on Israel by howling in the woods with the rest of the wolves." - Geert Wilders
Why isnt the ADL et al hammering them on a regular basis?
And in Salon's case their leading antisemite is Glenn Greenwald who's so right wing he often uses Alex Jones as a source and would give Lyndon Larouche a run for his money. Where Jews and Israel is concerned 'liberal' websites are more than happy to embrace the far far far right.
The project of the Left is to empower elites, through the build up of the State. Irrespective of ethnicity actually. One can darwinistically model this in terms of social dynamics. It ends up looking like one huge Ponzi scheme. That said, fascism is identical in it's calling and methods to communism, and most of the softer versions of each.
The projects of the Right are to either form ethno-monolithic nations, or to enable maximum individualism.
Islamism is a former as is Catholicsm, since both export an archetypal culture, the former much more profoundly; by imprinting and ultimately replacing the ethnos of the conquered or even partially controlled populations. Supersessionism, as a tool, is first and foremost ethnic erasure, of language and traditions and most of all national consciousness and incidentally, individualism. Religion is the last thing to go and is the most superficial in some ways. Since symbolism can be easily made syncretic. e.g., Jesus exists in Islam as does Mosses of course. The Greeks reinterpreted the Egyptian religion like a pile of clay before that etc...
The principles of the Enlightenment work toward the latter [individualism], in building personal responsibility and capability with education and opportunity. Unfortunately continuous Enlightenment takes work, and not everyone wants to do it and more often many get exploited, so the Left is created, or rather the fodder for the left.
The left coopts the rightist zeal to destabilize the system so they can accumulate more power. While the ethno-national right use the tools of the Left to consolidate power and run their social experiment longer. One happy family.
With this uber simplification, we can extrapolate and see where the trends meet and how they can coexist. There is nothing in Huff Post that is anti Islamist since their respective projects are not due to collide in a fairly long time. Whilst people that strive toward enlightenment, personal and private capability, and fairly open information, are anathema to both. This is besides in-bread anti-Semitism harbored by both.
It basically started with some Pagan Greeks trying to convert us. We balked and kicked their butts and they badmouthed us ever since: permeating deep into Byzantine Christianity and consequently the rest of Europe. Replacement Theology codified it then systematically for the RC Church and incidentally in the other Churches. The Christian Greeks brought the, theologically inspired Jew hate to the Arabs (who had some earlier ideas just as a matter of regional competition). Thats it in a nutshell. The little situation we had with the Assyrians and Egyptians (And Pagan Arabs), while extremely painful, was just regional business.
So, indoctrination over time? How can an otherwise 'sane' people, who consider themselves intelligent and tolerant, be so biased toward a group of people who only served to better society? How can this brainwashing go on in this day of the 'information super highway', unless hatred of Jews has become inbred?
And don't tell me its because y'alls don't eat bacon.![]()
Antisemitism can be explained by the importance of the scapegoat in human psychology. Scapegoating people actually at fault can help fix society. But if a nation has a built in small minority that can have blame redirected at it, and take the pressure off those more responsible but also more integrated into the rest of society (harder to blame them without risk), then that minority will become a scapegoat out of convenience. Jews were always a small enough minority not to pose a risk should you persecute them, but also always visible enough in economics to draw attention to themselves. If you look at how antisemitism is justified, it is almost always in the context of Jews being at fault for some problem. For example, "Jews control the media", "Jews caused the financial collapse."
And so many people buy into this antisemitism because they don't recognize it as such. It is to them simply a reasonable, culturally popular argument that is safe to have because all your peers do. Only for a few people does it manifest itself in a literal "I hate Jews because they're evil."
Yes that is it. It took time, a lot of time. Plus sure there were bad apples among us like every nation. Things got really ingrained over 2300 years or so. And notice that predates both Islam and Christianity. We refused full acceptance of Hellenism. We had the gall to stick to our civilizational guns against the Greek invasion of our coast. Others resisted too, like the Egyptians. But folded ultimately. We took what we liked and remained Jews. and don't get me wrong, I think the Greeks were a marvelous civilization that pushed us further than probably most in terms of raising man above absolutist autocracy and dismal superstition. But they were men who had their power politics like any... and we were in their way.
As you probably know, we are the now natural scape goat for a lot of what goes wrong in the world, from a variety of reasons. In the USSR, we got blamed for communism and for capitalism, for dictatorship and democracy, for being pro regime and pro street. There is no winning when everyone naturally shifts their stare at you when there is a need for a fall guy. I prefer the Teddy Roosevelt approach to that. Speak softly and carry a stick, or an ICBM or 500.
You obviously havent met my father. And don't tell me its because y'alls don't eat bacon.![]()
Man shoots and eats boar, and has made his own bacon.
Thanks for this discussion.
Now, I hope you don't think I am using this as an opportunity to preach, but what comes to mind is of course Christianity...and this is what confuses me the most.
I see some of my fellow Christians as the ultimate hypocrites who have neither fully read, nor understood the NT.
Why else would they worship the King of JEWS, while at the same time dislike...even hate...Jews?
I vividly recall comments after "The Passion of the Christ" by friends and acquaintances, noting that those "evil Jews did this to Jesus", not understanding it is our very own sinfulness since beginning of time necessitating this very event.
So, while we have "ingrained" generations into the ultimate Jew envy, for some even enough hatred to kill, if you will, ignorance may play as important of a role.
And as David 2 states,Antisemitism can be explained by the importance of the scapegoat in human psychology. Scapegoating people actually at fault can help fix society
