The choice of Abraham's alleged burial place in Hebron seems a purposeful outrage. The Tomb of the Patriarch is revered by Muslims and Jews alike; it was the site of a famous massacre of Muslim worshipers, carried about by a Jewish settler named Baruch Goldstein in 1994. And Hebron remains the site of the most egregious Israeli settlement--400 fanatics, many of them Americans, plopped in the middle of an Arab city of 500,000, guarded by 4000 Israeli soldiers, their presence causing roadblocks that force some Hebronites to detour as much as 8 kilometers to get from one side of a central neighborhood to the other.

Really? All 400 are fanatics? Interesting. Could you imagine him ever writing that all of the Israeli Arabs in, for example, Um El Fahm are fanatics?

And it's "their presence" that's cause the roadblocks, and not Palestinian violence? Very interesting.

And of course any chance to blame Israelis for the intifadah cannot be missed:

It is redolent of Ariel Sharon's 2000 walk on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, which provoked the Second Intifada.

The Palestinians themselves are probably shocked at how much liberals ate up this nonsense.

There was a very bloody pogrom in of Hebron Jews in the 30s, which pretty much cleansed the Jews, in fact an ancient Jewish community, from that town till after 1967.

I wonder how the Kleins of this world would react if a Jewish mob would attack an Arab leader visiting a Muslim holy site. I bet he would be outraged and he would label them religious bigots.

Yet he and his ilk won't see what the Palestinian Arabs did as bigotry when an Arab mob reacted in that way to a Jewish leader visiting a Jewish holy site.
