DC sniper proves: not fighting terror breeds terrorists

A message from the DC sniper has just been broadcast: "Your children are not safe anywhere at any time."

Palestinian and Islamist supporters are fond of peddling the lie that fighting terrorism breeds more terrorists.

Actually, just the opposite is true: fighting terrorists causes terrorists to be killed or captured. No one is going to rush to join what they perceive as a losing cause.

It's the successes of terrorists over the past few years that breeds more terrorists. Particularly the fact that no matter how many Israelis Palestinian terrorists mass murder, Israel insists on striking back in a surgical manner, while Europe condemns Israel for even attempting to defend herself.

The left has convinced the world that the Allies were the bad guys in WW II. We committed "war crimes" by bombing Dresden, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki.

The lesson of history is that when faced with extreme evil, one must use extreme force. Behind every Adolph Hitler stands a civilian population willing to make the armaments, provide the foot soldiers, and look the other way as their leaders commit atrocities.

The reaction of the Muslim world vacillates between "we have nothing to do with this" and "you have to understand the root causes."

The reaction of the West vacillates between "we will go after the terrorists with surgical precision" and "we must not become like them."

But there is one point that the West overlooks: by sticking to our rules of engagement (no military conscription, no world war against terrorism-supporting regimes, and appeasing as many dictators as we can) we risk losing the war.

Our enemies, Islamists, know that they are willing to blow themselves up to kill us, and more importantly, that we are willing to be blown up rather than to hit them back so hard that no one would ever dare attack us again.

I predict terrorism will go on for several years. Either the West will start electing very tough leaders who will respond to these mass murderers with swift and overwhelming force, or the West will slowly die -- all the while wondering what we did to deserve such a fate.

But there is a way out. We know who the terrorist supporting states are. We know who the terrorist groups are. We know where most of them are.

We can watch our children get picked off one at a time in the suburbs of DC, or we can send a wake up call to Arab and Islamic societies that condemn terrorism with a wink and nod.

What the US should do first is liberate Lebanon and erase Hezbollah. From there, we will have a base from which to bring about the downfall of baby Assad. From there we can strangle Iraq. With these three evil Arab regimes overthrown, Islamists' dreams of reducing the West to rubble will fade. The Arab street will know the game is over: adult supervision has arrived.

P.S. it doesn't matter whether the DC sniper is an Islamist. Clearly, whoever it is is emulating Islamist terrorists. Whoever it is has been inspired by apologists for Islamist terrorists like the ones who post at IsraelForum.com. After all, the US has tanks and bombers, and the poor little sniper only has a high-powered rifle.

I wholeheartedly agree with your post ibrodsky. In the eyes of the world we’d be viewed as racist, fascist, communist madmen and a few other things. The current mood in the world does not favor a war against Islamic Terrorist Fundamentalism.

I think it would be fair to say that you, others and I fully understand the danger of western civilization collapsing at the hands off Islamic Fundamentalists but we are too few. I know that many people have thrown in the towel to Islam already.

Many civilizations have had their day in the sun only to fade away. Our star is falling and Islam’s is rising. President Bush and Sharon know that Islamic Fundamentalism must be destroyed but they don’t have absolute support from within their own countries.

The world is at a stage where once we saw Hitler rise to power because nations refused to deal a blow to the Nazis. Our world is now facing the New Nazis from within Islam steadily they have infiltrated the west while the leaders that were elected to serve and protect us stood idly by.

At some point it will become impossible to stop Islamic Fundamentalists from conquering the world. I hope we haven’t reached that point yet!

P A R I S, Oct. 21 — France has alerted Interpol about a French army deserter who is known as a marksman and is missing in North America. A Defense Ministry spokesman said there was speculation of a link to the investigation into the Washington-area sniper.

The 25-year-old second lieutenant, who was not identified, did not return to class in September at the elite military school, Saint-Cyr Coetquidan in Brittany, in western France, after going on vacation in August, officials said.

Interpol was notified of the disappearance of the officer, a normal procedure, and a judicial investigation was opened, which is also routine, said Defense Ministry spokesman Jean-Francois Bureau.

Bureau acknowledged there was some speculation of a connection with the sniper investigation, but he said that was just hypothetical at this point.

"We have no certitude of a link," he said in a telephone interview. However, he said, "This soldier has a very, very good reputation as a marksman."

And since the Sept. 11 terror attacks on the United States, "these are things we follow very closely," he added.

The sniper IS a terrorist, regardless of his race/religion. Muslims aren't the only terrorists in the world, there are just more Muslims that advocate terrorism than any other sect of people on Earth.

Terrorism is more about the motivation of crime than the actual crime.

The sniper is a serial killer but not a terrorist. A terrorist is someone who uses violence against civilains in order to cause fear for political means.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Police investigating the Washington area sniper case were interested in talking to two people identified as John Allen Williams and John Malvo, CNN and Fox News reported on Wednesday.

Neither man was considered a suspect, the reports said. The men were connected to a 1990 Chevy Caprice bearing New Jersey license plate number NDA 21Z, according to both networks.
Williams, who is also known as Mohammad Williams, was reported to have been stationed at Fort Lewis, an Army base near Tacoma, in Washington state. Federal and local authorities conducted a search of a backyard at a home in Tacoma on Wednesday.

A Jihad training camp in Alabama is being searched. ABC apparently reported Thursday that the camp could have possible ties to bin Laden.
