These people haven't sacrificed their freedom, they have found something better. Their human cravings have been glorified into the divine life.

They thought they would find something better. The reason why I believe their testimony over average converts such as L. Booth is that they come forward in admitting that all other days apart from the scarce moments were a big disappointment. Their entire life was a big disappointment! That is what they say between the lines.
Tapping my toe in water I'de say L. Booth converted to islam because she lacks general affection. There's plenty affection to be found in islam since it's all about group hugging replacement revelation. When you're in you're in while the ritual staring at the face on your left and on your right makes further divine aspirations superfluous.

Those who have experienced the beatific vision like the many saints have said that they could no longer continue living on earth, because every moment separated from the presence of God was pain. But, then again few people have experienced the beatific vision that the rest of us will only experience in heaven.

Well I obviously believe the biblical accounts. Some are projection such as most of what John saw. Like looking at a giant movie screen and then the screen turns into 3D but the real thing, without fake/headache glasses.
I've had that once but no God in the neighborhood, just abandoned and war broken houses.

Former prime minister Tony Blair's sister-in-law Lauren Booth, a rights campaigner and Muslim convert, said on Wednesday that he should be tried for war crimes over the invasion of Iraq.

Booth, the half-sister of Blair's barrister wife Cherie, is in Malaysia for lectures organised by Viva Palestina, a British-based organisation associated with controversial politician George Galloway.

Asked whether Blair should be arrested and sent to the International Court of Justice in The Hague for war crimes, Booth replied: "Absolutely. He misled the British people and took Britain to war on a lie."...
