Six Jews killed in Hebron terrorist shootin attack (15.11.2002)

    [Ed: Headline for thread updated]

    From news article:

At least six Israelis were killed and several others wounded Friday evening when Palestinian gunmen opened fire on a group of worshippers and IDF soldiers accompanying them near the Tomb of the Patriarchs, in the West Bank city of Hebron.

    Ha'aretz

So I guess it's legitimate to kill Hebron Jews since they are settlers? How many times are fanatic Muslims going to attempt on ethnically cleansing Hebron of Jews? It has happened once before...

It's more than six, according to the update:

"At least nine Israelis were killed and more than 30 others were wounded, some seriously, Friday evening when Palestinian gunmen opened fire on a group of worshippers and IDF soldiers accompanying them near the Tomb of the Patriarchs in the West Bank city of Hebron.

Gunmen, who came from the vicinity of the Palestinian neighborhood of Abu Sneineh, ambushed the Israelis, hurled grenades at them and opened fire. Heavy gun battles ensued between Palestinians and Israeli security forces. Due to the gun battles, Magen David Adom rescue workers experienced difficulties in evacuating some of the wounded. IAF helicopters assisted in evacuating the wounded. "

Actually, a lot of religious Jews visit the Tomb of the Patriarchs, not necessarily settlers...

It's at least 9 now, and over 30 injured.

Whilst we sit in the rest of the free world and wait for "Spectacular Attacks" from Al Quada. Wonderful.

Doesn't everyone understand the what is happening across the world? Why is it so easy for a bunch of viscious apes to wreak so much havok throughout the world. Why is it that organized countries with multiple organizations like CIA (w/ carnivore), Interpol, FBI, new KGB, Scotland yard, Mossad, etc. fail to find one dirty, bearded fool on a camel on the border of Pakistan? Ugh!

I'm flying home for the holidays this year and that makes me nervous. I hate it. It just makes me want to take matters into my own hands.

I'm talking specifically about arming myself, getting gas masks, being incredibly vigilant. Sorry, I don't really know what else to do, but I'm surely not going to sit around and wait to be hurt or killed.

One could argue that UN Resolution 242 is dead and has been replaced by Oslo II (of course Oslo II is dead but it was agreed to by the EU, US, Russia, Jordan and Egypt) at least that’s the way I see it.

Posters on this forum as well as other forums and a variety of well know VIP justify the murder of settlers because they have stolen Arab land. As a matter of fact that argument is made by a large percentage of the world population.

If Israel annexed parcels of land in the WB and GS using Oslo II as the foundation would there be justification for murdering Arab settlers that potentially could move into the annexed territories?

It seems to me that since much of the world consider Jews that encroach in the WB and BS fair targets therefore shouldn’t Arabs that enter Israeli controlled territory be subject to the same fate.

I’m certain that there’s a percentage of Arabs illegally in Israel at the moment and it seems if the same standards were used they would also be fair targets.

If the Palestinians are so concerned what they refer to as illegal settlers (WB & GS) why haven’t the PA arrested these individuals and deported them to Israel?

If the same standards used to justify the murders of Jews and/or Israelis in countries worldwide it would set 10’s of millions up for murder. If a family settles in the US without a visa and/or some form of emigrant status doesn’t that family become settlers? Of course if apprehended they would claim refugee status but if the claim isn’t/wasn’t approved shouldn’t they be subject to execution ( based on the justification the world gives for the murder of Jews)?

That seems to be the trend.

Kind of negates "resistance to occupation", doesn't it?

I guess there are too much of them, too large each one, too unimaginative, too inflexible. Probably fighting each other for power and influence, playing poitics and hell knows what rather than doing their jobs. This is, of course provided they know how to do them at all: bloated bureaucracies usually don't

You know, I mind the one guy on the camel, photogenic as he is, much less than the reported thousands of inconspicious citizens lying in waiting. They are the ones who give me creeps.
I'm flying home for the holidays this year and that makes me nervous. I hate it. It just makes me want to take matters into my own hands.
I shiver in my shoes at the thought. Signed, bin Laden

    I was replying to Danholo.

    Oh, I missed this

    - I was kind of picturing you on a bin Laden safari

But maybe it's not such a joke after all. Maybe the rescue will come from private citizens rather than our blundering gargantuan "security" bureaucracies.

Even the 9% of the Leftist left in me says that now is as good a time as any for Racial Profiling!

I’ve always believed in racial profiling with cavity searches (as long as I’m not performing the searches or being search) it only seems prudent in today’s world.

Let's hope that with Labor out of the government Israel responds using massive force. It's time to make the responses to mass murder attacks against Israelis so severe that even Islamist barbarians who do not value life will consider the price too high.

This is why I would like to see Netanyahu replace Sharon. Sharon is trying to prove he is not the butcher of the PA terrorist camps in south Lebanon. Of course, he has already been tried and convicted in the world press, so it doesn't matter what he does or doesn't do. Netanyahu is much better able to present his case in English.

It is time for Israel to eliminate Terrorfat and start imposing heavy penalties on the Palestinians. The Palestinians have no interest in their own state, and never have, so it is time to give them the choice of either living peacefully as Israeli subjects or leaving for the Palestinian homeland, Jordan.

Alternatively, they can all be squeezed into Gaza where it is easier to keep them from hurting anyone but themselves.

Sadly, there are celebrations happening around the globe the party isn't limited to the WB or GS. I'm certain that the majority of Arab/Muslims feel that the Jews got their just reward.

The shooters have become national heroes and as I write the ink is drying on their checks. For those waiting for the attacks to abate it's going to be an eternal wait. I don't think anyone fully realize just how bad the situation is. The killing and carnage would be horrendous if the IDF and law officials weren't able to apprehend a high percentage of these hired mercenaries.
