Israel to apologize and pay compensation to Turkey

    http://www.haaretz.co.il/hasite/spages/1202251.html
    http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomac...tions-1.329055

The Israeli and Turkish diplomats speculated that in an agreement, Israel would apologize to Turkey for the events of the Gaza flotilla and compensate it accordingly, and in exchange Turkey would return its ambassador to Tel-Aviv and agree to appoint a new Israeli envoy in Ankara.

Give me a break ... Tell me it's not true ...

Teyyip Erdogan should be the one to apologize to the Israeli people. He should be the one who personally apologizes not on behalf of Turkey but on behalf of himself for being an a...hole!

Re: Israel to apologize and pay compensation to Turkey

are they actually doing it or is this all speculation?

*Alright, I read the article and it doesn't say that Israel is going to do one or the other. The article just says that this was mentioned in the discussions.

In my opinion, this would be highly controversial in Israel and would bring a lot of hate on Netanyahu. I think this would make him more hated than if he froze settlements. I don't believe it will happen. He may apologize "for the loss of life" but there is just no way he can pay compensation to the families of the terrorists. I think that would finish him.

Yala why do you say 'finish'. Is he on thin ice?
I saw him from the beginning as the perfect man to sit out the Obama Administration.

If he paid compensation to the Turkish terrorists from the Mavi Mara? I would say so. He will lose everything to Lieberman, who I'm pretty sure would say openly that he was against it. He may even make a grand event and leave the gov't over it. I'm not sure, but then again I really don't believe Netanyahu would pay this compensation.

I do too, unless he does this craven act of apologizing and paying the Mavi Mara Turks for trying to kill Israeli soldiers.

My advice to Bibi is this ...

Stop trying to find formulas to try to appease this street thug and bully [Erdogan]. Let it be, whatever has happened, happened. Turkey and Israel will never be friends while this gutter fighter stays in power, even if you'll kiss his feet. So don't do anything that is liable to make him look good.

Pay them for the use of their plane and be clear to call it that. Thank them, show them the door, and slam it.

He won't stay ay power forever, you know. And Turks are no Arabs.
Still not sure why the alleged apologies should be made to Turkey, was it officially Turkish enterprise?

I'm sure Netanyahu realizes that Israel groveling to Erdogan for sending IHH terrorists to kill Israelis will only make Erdogan more popular...Does anyone, especially Israelis, agree that this will look really bad in Israel if he actually goes thru with this?

Israel writes letter of apology to Turkey

Israel said Wednesday that it is apologizing to Turkey over insult to its ambassador, hoping to defuse the crisis between the once-close countries.
What did Israel's previous apology to Turkey bring? The flotilla! Don't do it again Bibi ...
