A senior CBS correspondent is recovering in hospital in the US after she was beaten and sexually assaulted by a mob while covering the Egyptian protests, the US network says.

It says the attack occurred on Friday in Cairo's packed Tahrir Square after President Hosni Mubarak stepped down.

TBH she was lucky to get back to the States because in most moslem nations she could have been arrested and stoned to death for that happening to her. I wonder if Egypt will seek an extradition order for her so that they can have her tried under Sharia law?

'Sexual assault' is the term that has replaced 'rape' in a legal context in the last decade.

If you want the specific word 'rape' all you need to do is Google 'Lara logan rape' (no quotes) and you will find plenty of results.
