Pakistan 'arrests CIA informants in Bin Laden raid'

Brig Abbas said that two categories of people were among those arrested - those who threw flares into the Bin Laden compound to guide approaching US helicopters and those who helped the helicopters refuel within Pakistani territory.

In the wake of Bin Laden's death many American agents have been forced to leave Pakistan, while Pakistani officials and civilians suspected of helping the CIA may soon appear in court.

The New York Times said those held included a major believed to have logged the number plates of cars visiting Bin Laden's compound in the weeks before the raid.

In an interesting corollary, Turkey is still in NATO and is a tier one partner with the US for the latest and best gear. But Turkey is openly drifting away from the west. So why would anyone think they're NOT giving or selling our technology to Iran and China?

The Obama administration seems intent on selling Turkey the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, replete with stealth technology and the backbone of our national defense for generations to come. On one hand, Turkey is part of the consortium building the jet, but their contribution is to the fuselage. They will not have access to the most high-technology parts until we sell them the planes.

The problem is trust: The Turkish Air Force has held secret war games with the Chinese Air Force, and the new head of the Turkish intelligence services has been as much a cheerleader for the Islamic Republic of Iran as he has been an antagonist for the United States. The question, alas, is not whether Turkey would sell America’s secrets to Beijing or Tehran, but whether they might simply provide them to our enemies. The simple fact of the matter is trust in the Turkish-American relationship is a thing of the past, and the White House should not leverage America’s security secrets because of diplomatic nicety. Robert Gates notes that NATO is probably doomed, leaving Turkey, technically the largest army in "Europe" and the rest of Europe happily going w/o much of any military infrastructure at all.

And who could blame them? Iran today probably has some theoretical capacity to hit Athens, Bucharest or Tirana with conventionally armed missiles. In a year or two they'll be able to hit Berlin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Paris, Rome, Warsaw, Vienna and Prague. And in a few years after than they'll cap their missiles with nuclear tips.Just at the time that England has decommissioned its last nuclear sub, scrapped its last aircraft carrier and folded up its standing army and most of it air force. Given this scenario having any defense capabilty at all is moot. Who's going to save them? Russia?

10 years, tops Turkey and Iran have permanent seats in the UN SC, England is out, and the ayatollahs are dictating terms to Europe, at will.

US to replace two P3C Orion aircraft

ISLAMABAD: The US has decided to supply two P3C Orion aircraft to Pakistan to replace the aircraft that were blown up in the PNS Mehran attack on May 22nd, 2011, diplomatic sources told DawnNews.

According to sources, the US will also be supplying F-16 aircraft and its spare-parts. Moreover, it is also expected that chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen will soon be visiting Pakistan to convey US President Barrack Obama’s message, sources added.
