Not to be rude, but I think you guys are taking the wrong approach to this site. I think you should focus on the post authors and their articles more and the nutbag Jew hating talkbackers less. You'll notice Deir Yassin repeatedly tried to goad me into a conversation but I ignored him completely, which I'm sure he did not appreciate at all.

The latest hot topic in 972 is the new bill passed in the Knesset that would officially declare Israel to be a Jewish State for the Jewish people. Of course, the 972ers have a different title: "Knesset bill would formalize second-class status for Arab citizens"

And the soap opera continues....I just read the Hebrew version of the bill and I don’t understand the knee jerk reactions (well aside from the anti-zionist, one staters). The bill says Arabic is granted special status (it doesn’t say this about any other language), it protects the rights of all religions and ethnicities to practice and keep their culture, traditions, religion, etc., all holy sites (of all faiths) will be protected. Other than that, the bill is basically confirming the status quo of Israel since 1948: Law of Return (yes, there is one state in the world where Jews know they can always find refuge, no apologies from me), Jewish holidays are the national holidays (how terrible!), Shabbat is the official day of rest (how terrible!), Hebrew is the national language, while special consideration is given to Arabic speakers (how terrible!), the symbols of the flag are the Star of David and the two stripes symbolizing the tallit (how terrible!), the Jewish Calendar is the offical calendar of the country (how terrible!), Independence Day, Holocaust Memorial Day, and Yom HaZikaron are official holidays as well (how terrible!), and yes, people of one ethnic group or religion (not just Jews) have the right to form a separate community. My gosh, the sky if falling!!!!

Yes, I got very much under the skin of Mr Bill because everytime I address a post to him, I make it a point that Israel is there to stay and any reports about Israel's imminent demise are premature and greatly exaggerated. I think he is an old style communist of the worst kind.
I will keep an eye on him and make it my business to make him uncomfortable and lose his cool wherever possible.
