you never know - some people would rather be hated than ignored.
Some people tend to not address what the individual is actually saying, but what they think he represents. She speaks to categories (right, left, Palestinian) not to individuals. So what you have actually said or not said is of no importance, it must be wrong and rightwing since it displeases Deir Yassin who must be right since she carries that nickname. If the issue was really one of language, why support 100% Larry Derfner's atrocious rant? If you are so concerned with words, why call Hebrew speakers "indigenous Israelis"? Maybe she'll learn with time.

Were you banned from +972? I am not sure but I thought I saw some stiff interchange between you and one of the journalists there.

I for one don't hate Deir Yassin. To be sure, I don't like her but it's more a dislike mixed with pity because she and her kind are her people's worst enemies. And there is a bit of self pity mixed in with that because, it is her and her ilk who stop peace from breaking out.

I am sure I must have been after I reminded Larry Derfner in that post about Rachel Abrams that himself had justified the killing of Israelis and he was even fired for that from the JP. His reaction was rather violent.
For now, I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt and say she is a naive idealist. Aside from that reply to her, when she accused you (Reffo) of insulting and calling for your banning, I haven't really responded to her for better or worse. However, I am kind of sitting back watching her pipe dream of all of us "just getting along" be blown to smithereens by "Palestinian" and the rest of his contingent.Anyway, to me Ayla sounds to be a naive idealist at best. I don't yet know if in fact she is worse than that. What do you guys think?

I also don't hate Deir Yassin, although I am sure she would claim I "hate" all Arab, including HER. Sometimes you just have to accept the fact that there is too big a gap between two people politically (in this case, her and I) to bridge. As a person, I wish her well (as long as she doesn't call for harm against my people). There is just no way we will ever be marching side by side holding signs at demonstrations. We will always be on the opposite side. That is just the way it is.

Well, there is only one of two ways to know: 1) if after repeatedly trying to post multiple times and on multiple days, you can't, then most likely you have been banned 2) go onto their site and see if it says "this user has been banned from the site" or something similar. Otherwise, there is no reason to believe you have been banned.
At any rate, if you are it is THEIR loss. YOUR experience of a Jew growing up in an Arab/Muslim country is something very much needed on their site, even though there will always be those (whose ONLY language is English and who have never stepped foot in the Middle East) who claim they know better than you![]()

I wish them nothing but misery and suffering eternal. In short, give them everything they've ever dreamed of.
The thing, Aliyah, is that I am not interested because I don't like what arguing with propagandists has made me. If you're not prepared to go along with the lie, the slanted interpretation of the news or with the version presented by a "doctored" video, then you're pushed into a corner where you don't really belong and where you have to be constantly defensive in an environment hostile to constructive criticism. We can end up defending the indefensible just because we are implicated by association. If, say, a group of municipal Rabbis run their mouth, then it's "Israel says", "Israel does" "Israel is racist" then "you racists" and you have no choice but argue with that, even though you condemn the statement to begin with.
The best thing to do is to write or call those people, and tell them politely that we're tired of going around putting out the fires that they start.Believe me, it works. I did it some ten years ago after Rav Ovadia Yosef "ant speech". Then you take away those arguments.
Another thing I would like to see are videos showing the settler side in the altercation. Why are they not out there?
What I am saying is that at the end, we're the ones ending up losing. Despite our differences, we Zionists have been turned into one faceless criminal bloc, and arguing with insanity is admitting that is what we are. Besides, it prevents internal debate and self-criticism.
I must admit though, that getting a formerly respected JP journalist to wish you to "drop dead" for lack of argument and exposing his hypocrisy was no small satisfaction. But it is sterile.

I understand what you are saying and believe me, I can relate. But, and there is always a but, firstly, some of them have good intentions too. Even though we all know that the road to hell is paved with good intentions, surely their intentions must count for something ...
But even more importantly. We cannot afford to leave their story or stories unchallenged. All I can say is that a few years ago, there were lots of letters from the chattering classes written to newspapers in Australia overwhelmingly anti Israel. Newspaper articles too, at least in some leftist papers. After a while a predictable atmosphere evolved. It became conventional wisdom to accept that Israel is the aggressive colonialist opprsessive power.
But that started to change after a while when pro Israel supporters got off their back sides and started challenging the one sided biased narratives. The atmosphere changed for the better, quite a lot better. The bottom line is that we can't afford to stand by and let the misguided ones or the worse than misguided ones take over the agenda.

What Reffo says above is EXACTLY why I continue to visit and post on 972 while holding my nose....

I for one would hope they offer a 6 month internship to any gays, feminists, Jews, democrats (as in political not the party) or atheists to come work for Hamas.
Who? The only one of the bunch who has good intentions and is straightforward that I can see is Omar Rahman. The rest knows they are leading. We know they are leading, and they know we know they are leading. When a writer admits that it was proven that the scenes in the WB were staged, but at the same time maintains that they are not staged because she says so, what is there to challenge? Honest people who are just mistaken, yes. Sophisticated propagandists, no.
I think the answer to +972 would be a very similar site that would presents differing viewpoints but with higher ethical standards.
