Do you think that the Quartet will eventually get the hint that the Palestinians are not interested in peace?

Do you think we will eventually get the hint that at least half of this Quartet (Russia and the UN) are not interested in peace and one of the remaining two -the EU- has much more important things to do (like saving their own asses) for any foreseable future?
You are correct about Russia, but the UN is very interested in the peace that would follow a Palestinian victory and pursues it incessantly. That this would cause the death or expulsion of another six million Jews does not concern the UN in the least.Originally Posted by Kachah

The announcement came following separate meetings between a Quartet delegation, headed by Middle East envoy Tony Blair, and PA and Israeli officials.
A UN official was quoted as having told Reuters on behalf of the Quartet, “The parties agreed with the Quartet to come forward with comprehensive proposals on territory and security within three months in the context of our shared commitment to the objective of direct negotiations leading toward an agreement by the end of 2012.”
The Quartet envoys also called on the parties to “resume direct bilateral negotiations without delay or preconditions” and said they would meet the parties regularly over the next 90 days.

No rush for peace though, not much chance of it either and they know it. The quartet envoys are all on an unlimited travel and expense accounts. These commitees are the political equivalent of TV panel games that gives jobs to old "has been actors". Ronald Regan could have qualified for either.
Abbas has always said no talks unless Israel already agrees to 100% of the PA's demands before they even start.

The Quartet has proven since its establishment in 2002 and its so-called Roadmap for Peace a year later that it is a completely useless and ineffectual body.
An interesting op ed and since it is dated after my previous post then it agrees with me.
I don’t think the current affairs we have with Iran is anything to be neglected. IF a strike is made against Iran this month, things can go real messy. We need to diplomatically and peacefully deal with Iran.
