The question is not why there is no peace. The question is not why a soldier is kidnapped or how to avoid the problem. Isn't it obvious? I will make the claim that Israel does not trust God to solve the crisis. You might argue with me and say, "How dare you question our trust and faith in God." I will simply point out the obvious. If God can and will save you, why do you posses weapons? Why do you answer hate with more violence? I am not pointing a finger. Obviously, the answer is that you are as human as all of us. The reality is not so easy. Simply saying that we are human and fear others admits that we do not trust God enough to have our backs when the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. Trust is the answer and love is the way to exhibit the name of the Lord by our actions. Taking the name of the Lord in vain has only one requirement. Writing G_D in place of YHVH does not meet the requirement. Character is what the name represents. If we take the name of the LORD in vain, we take the name apart from the character to back it up. All of us need this lesson in faith.
The letter "Hey" was added to Abram's name. Why? Hey means, "Behold a great work." Abraham had faith and trusted the Lord, even so far as sacrificing his Son. What is the sacrifice God is asking of Israel today? Is it possible that Ishmael is the one God wants Israel to save in faith. This time, He is asking you to love your brother. How do we treat our family? Answer this question and the problem is solved. Not by might and not by Strength, but by the Spirit of the Lord.
Spirit is consciousness. We exhibit love to others as an reflection of God's Holy Spirit through us in the world. To see God in the mirror, a person must see the light. The light of the nations is what Israel is by destiny. We either light the fire we burn by or we are the light unto the path for others. Choices.
As for me, I pray daily for the peace of Israel.
