In most cases where Riyadh beheads a foreign national, the respective embassy is notified only after the execution, thereby eliminating chances for international or diplomatic protest.
That is so unfair, because there is no chance of capturing hostages for a prisoner swap.
It's kinda very final isn't it, no arguments, no going back and undoing it. Time to move on.
Some feel that the death penalty is barbaric and so it has been abolished in most liberaly infected societies. Nothing is more barbaric than murder, rape, torture and the slow poisoning of our kids, therefore barbarians need to be treated like barbarians.
Unfortunately there is a trend to equate our level of civilisation with our degree of liberal tollerance, ie. the more shit you're willing to take, the more civilised you are.
I think that it's well past time to analyse where these policies are leading us. Most western countries suffer from overcrowded prisons and in part due to the lack of a suitable deterrent.
If the western nations can start to get real regarding their barbarians then hopefully Israel will follow suit and start to punish its terrorists in a fitting manner.
