U Penn BDS leader: We need to demonize Israel at every single opportunity

Of course her name is Kaplan.....

When I was a student at Bir Zeit on the Hudson, I had a number of friends who were an hour and a half south at Penn. I would never allow any of my children to go there today.
    Penn teaches Jew-hatred
    .
At the PennBDS conference last weekend, there was a breakout session on the "Academic Boycott of Israel."

One of the panelists was Amy Kaplan, professor of English at the University of Pennsylvania.

At the Q&A session, another teacher asked Kaplan how to incorporate the BDS memes of demonizing Israel into college courses, even when the course has nothing to do with "Palestine."

    And Professor Kaplan answered him.

She should change her name to Rumkowski.

I'm an Penn alum and remain proud of it despite the presence of useful idiots such as Kaplan and a few others (Max Blumenthal and, gasp, Noam Chomsky are also Penn alums). However, a school with as big, proud, and vibrant a Jewish community at all levels (undergrad, graduate/professional, faculty) as Penn is bound to produce a few of these clowns. When I was there (88-92), there were roughly 10 000 Jewish students, including undergrad and graduate students. The numbers aren't much different today. If 1% of them are useful idiots, that makes 100---they're loud, but mostly looked down upon within the community.

Penn is as comfortable and safe a place as there is for Jewish students.
