Heavy snow fall in Jerusalem for the first time in four years

Three centimeters is a heavy snow fall?! That's 1.2 inches for the metric impaired.

Heavy snow fell in the Jerusalem area on Friday, and for the first time in four years, parts of Jerusalem were white with snow.

Snow fell in Ramot, Givat Ze’ev and Har Gilo, and three centimeters of snow fall were reported.

It may not be deep snow, the snow may have fallen in big lumps rather than small flakes or maybe the flakes were made from heavy water.
When it snows more than 6 inches in the UK everything stops and it's regarded as a national disaster. In canada 6 inches of snow is classed as a light shower.
If it snowed here in Brisbane the churches would be full.
It's all perspective and how well you are equipped to cope.

Just not deep enough to get the toboggan or skis out yet deep enough to be a real pain when it starts to thaw. I miss the snow and heat in the 30's can be quite uncomfortable when you work inside an industrial building. But then I don't need to own a coat, gloves or scarf and a weeks laundry fits in one load. The power bill is significantly lower so when I weigh it all up if I want snow, with the savings I can travel to it whenever I get the urge.
Wow! so that's Israel, truly? Where are the white buildings with flat roofs and donkeys in the streets? It looks far too civilised for the middle east
