Arab writers withdraw from U.S. book over publisher's refusal to remove Israeli contributions

What is one to make of this one? The theme of all these writings is criticism of the treatment of women in the various countries in the Middle East. Then there is the Arab Israeli conflict, the Arab spring, the situation in Syria, Egypt, Lybia etc ... So, had the writers decided to boycott writers from say Syria, Israel and maybe elsewhere in the Middle East, as a means of expressing their personal disapproval about the politics in those countries, one might understand and accept their right to protest. But what do they do? These so called progressive Arab women? They fall back to their traditional nationalism and supremacism. They want only Jewish Israelis boycotted.

Fine, let them but it diminishes their cause. And they should not complain when Muslims and Arabs are profiled in other countries. Because if they call such profiling racism, then what they have done to the Jewish Israeli women writers is racism too.
