Tal Law makes new victims.
Shaul Mufaz fired LIVE on radio 4 members of his party who were trying to make a deal with Netanyahu behind his (Mofaz') back. I don't know if it's legal, but meanwhile the Israeli media is already having a ball.

Haaretz doesn't have the news up yet. They need time to decide how to twist it first.
Thanks for the link, Curlyg. I am not sure if the above transitions have been applied on the ground or not. As far as I know, young men still serve three years.
At any rate, things have changed since the beginning of 2006, so I don't know if this plan has been scrapped for now or not.

What will be interesting is if:
(1) August 1 arrives and there is no replacement law
(2) The IDF refuses to recruit Haredim
(3) Israeli rights groups petition the Supreme Court for equal application of the draft law, i.e. for an order to compel the army to recruit Haredim
I wonder what would happen in this situation.
