To The "Liberal Progressive" Media

They always fret about how "Israel is losing it's democratic character". This is a quote from a New York Time Editorial:

“One of Israel’s greatest strengths is its origins as a democratic state committed to liberal values and human rights. Those basic truths are in danger of being lost,” the newspaper says

I have news to them. If what they say is true, then they and their ilk bear the greatest guilt for that trend. I say this from personal experience. In my younger days, I used to be a lot more of what they tend to describe as free thinking "liberals". Now, thanks to the unfair treatment that these so called progressives have been dishing out to Israel, particularly since 1967, they drove a whole generation of us into the arms of the right wing. And they can put this into their pockets. I am glad they did. Because I consider the centre right to be on the side of common sense. And the ilk of the New York times are the extremists.

... especially since no Skandinavian country would behave as Sweden behaves in Skandinavia if they would be in The Middle East either. Unless of course they would be bent on national suicide.

Come to think of it, Sweden might though. Weren't they the world capital of suicidal people at one stage?

The Palestinian Constitution talks about being an Arab and Muslim state, but you will never hear anyone complain about that.

Article 1. Palestine is part of the large Arab World, and the Palestinian people are part of the Arab Nation. Arab Unity is an objective which the Palestinian People shall work to achieve.

Article 4.
Islam is the official religion in Palestine. Respect and sanctity of all other heavenly religions shall be maintained.
The principles of Islamic Shari’a shall be the main source of legislation.
Arabic shall be the official language.

Please note that it only talks about respect for other "heavenly religions." I'll bet Baha'is, Hindus, etc. need not apply.
