Here is my response to the accusation that Israel's human rights record does not measure up to other Western countries.

It does if one compares apples to apples rather than apples to oranges. Israel has been fighting a war of survival ever since it's existence. It is an open secret that the ultimate objective of all the Palestinian Arab factions is the end of the Jewish state and it's replacement by an Arab majority. Which means another Arab/Muslim state, the 25th one, in the Middle East.

So when was the last time that Western democracies were involved in a war of survival? In WW2 of course. And how did they fight their ruthless enemies? They fought fire with fire and rightly so. Remember the fire bombing of Dresden? Remember the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima Nagasaki? Remember the internment of enemy aliens (some of whom had American, British, Australian and Canadian citizenship) into camps? Remember the censorship during the war? Remember how they dealt with traitors after the war? Google Lord Haw Haw and Tokyo Jane. If one measures Israel against those standards, Israel can hold it's head high.

And not just those standards. Even if one looks at civilian casualties described as collateral damage in drone attacks, Israel has nothing to be ashamed of. Except of course according to biased so called "progressives" who have a distinct and deliberate agenda to belittle, disparage and demonise Israel at every turn. I have my own thoughts about those bastards but I won't voice them, I will say this though. They are our sworn enemies. I don't wish them anything good in their miserable lives.

One last word on their attitude to the Arab Israeli conflict. I liken their attitude to that of a crooked referee in a boxing match.

One boxer fights using every dirty trick in the book. Low blows, eye gouging, biting etc, you get the picture? The other boxer fights more or less by the book but occasionally through frustration or necessity he too breaks the rules in retaliation but much less frequently.

How does the referee react? He rides the back of the more honest boxer. He constantly admonishes him for breaking the rules and threatens to disqualify him. Occasionally, as a platitude, to keep up appearances, he mildly admonishes the dirty fighter while he winks at him. I liken the so called "progressives" to such a referee.

both are pretty good analogies.....as far as the war for survival, even if its not, the western countries take far more liberties than israel does:

the US basically destroyed Iraq and refused to stay and rebuild it properly (i doubt that i could be done, but the principle is there) Italy, France destroyed Libya and just left (really smart move), once their oil supplies were secured. How many France is killing in Mali is anybody' guess and of course we have Obama playing "predator tag" with anybody he feels has to die on any country he wants to......

Yea, I have lost count how many times they go quite on one once they raelise that they have engaged someone who knows history and knows facts.

Yet a few days later you see the same suspects repeating the same nonsense like automatons. As if they were never confronted by history or facts.

Yes, the Chinese know how to deal with those who disagree with their version of reality. So did the Soviets and so did the Nazis. Nevertheless, I am not in favour of using the methods of those fascist dictatorships. I am in favour though of us, many of us, confronting them and challenging their myths and fairy tales whenever or wherever they open their mouths or click their keyboards. We need to be as exhausting and boring to them as they have endeavoured to be to us. And if need be we too need to repeat our side of the facts hundreds or thousands of times, each of us, till they are the ones who get exhausted, NOT US. Failing that, their narrative will be the one that sticks. We have seen it work out that way before, no matter what ludicrous lies they told.

I don't think that banning dissenting points of views, willy nilly, makes anyone look good. Nor does it make the "progressive" sites look good and many of them have come to realise it. Not all but many.

Of course banning people for hate speech, racism and incitement is ok at least according to most reasonable people.

Anyway, I have been banned but when I was, I wasn't really the one who looked bad. The banners were the ones who made themselves look stupid. In any case, others took my place and they could not go on banning everyone. That's exactly what needs to be done. We need to be as stubborn as they are in airing our point of view. Often and everywhere. That's what drives them nuts ...

I am sure most of you are aware that "our Arab friends" have for sometime now, adopted a new tactic in their ongoing war against the state of Israel.

The slogan now is "non violent resistance". This means that practically overnight (in historical terms), they have become paragons of virtue who never hurt a fly and they won't hurt one now either. Even Zionist flys. They, with the help of their "progressive" friends are just (and always have been) virtuous victims who fought and still fight against tyranicall, evil Zionist colonisers.

They think they will bluff the world and Israel itself into becoming another South Africa. They won't. Not if we don't let them. But we ignore this newish tactic at our own peril.

I can almost smell the high priced PR firms working feverishly to map out strategies and make up slogans for the hordes of "progressives" to repeat endlessly on every media outlet till they hope it will become gospel truth through sheer repetition and wide exposure.

Another thing I noticed.

It is getting harder and harder to find information on the internet of even relatively recent history. For instance, I remember at the height of the suicide bombing campaign, between 2000 and 2004, various Palestinian Arab leaders crowed proudly about their "smart bombs" that they have to counter Israeli smart bombs supplied by America. They were referring to their so called human volunteers who were willing to blow themselves up to kill Israelis.

I seem to recall people like Saeb Erekat pretending to condemn the suicide bombings while at the same time using the opportunity to puff his chest out and proudly saying, we have our "smart bombs" too to counter Israeli smart bombs. I think even Ashrawi made such comments. Yet I can't find a single reference to this anywhere on the Internet.

Is it just me? Or is Google in bed with the Palestinian Arabs? One thing is for sure, Israel should do a lot more in this area and put stuff up about it on Israeli sites. People have very short memories.
