    Anti-Semitic Forgery in Palestinian Press

    Reported by the IDF:

The important thing to keep in mind is that this is not just another run-of-the-mill racist and anti-Semitic slur in the Arab press. This is put out by the Palestinian Authority's official newspaper. It is part of the Palestinian campaign to further poison their people with hatred and racism, as is common in much of the Arab world.

But this time, it is from the very same Palestinians who are asking for sympathy and understanding from the civilized world. Obviously, with this kind of behavior, they deserve none. On the contrary, Palestinian racism is a very serious phenomenon that needs to be investigated further, especially when considering whether to provide humanitarian assisatnce to the Palestinians.

    From news article:

Anti-Semitic "Protocols" Published in Palestinian Press
In a new chapter appearing in the most recent edition of the A-Shuhada'a newspaper (no. 47), sections of the age-old, anti-Semitic forgery, "The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion", were published.

A-Shuhada'a, published by the political office of the Palestinian National Security Force, relates to many political, military, and economic topics in accordance with new developments in the Palestinian, Arab, and international arenas. For example, an editorial penned by Ahmed Hilas, the paper's Editor-in-Chief, addresses the current Cairo talks between Fatah and Hamas.

A-Shuhada'a is an official newspaper of the Palestinian Authority intended for officers of the National Security Force in the Gaza Strip. In a chapter that relates to military matters, there is an article that examines Israel's military industry, as well as an article that reflects upon Islam's stance vis-a-vis the Jews.

An article published in the February 17, 2003 edition of Al-Hayat Al-Jedida, the official newspaper of the Palestinian Authority, brought this information to light.

    Angry Disturbing.

It disturbs me so much that the international community still takes the two-faced PA seriously.

They're no different than virtually every middle eastern arab newspaper, newsreport, official government announcement. So called newspapers regularly print that Jews drink blood, sacrifice goyim and so on.

That's nothing - people in this country say they believe it. It's really pointless to worry about it.

I can't imagine that even the Arabic world takes the PA seriously as a source of news and history. It would be much more disturbing if a paper like Al Hayat ran it.

Come on guys, be fair. Don't you realize that the zionists MADE them do it?
After all, what choice do they have?
    They're desperate.

This is what the left says to excuse virtually any arab atrocities or racist behaviour.

The report about the publishing was published by Al-Hayat Al-Jedida. Is that the same paper you mean?

Here's the IDF report about it:

Mediocrates is right that this is not much different than any other day. MEMRI publishes similar things from the Arab press all the time.

Al Hayat has also run its share of anti-Semitim:

    http://www.adl.org/issue_israel/anti..._pa_quotes.asp

    http://www.gamla.org.il/english/arti...march/ler1.htm

But I see that the latest citations are from 1999. I'm not sure if there was a change in attitude, or whether my quick research is just not showing current results.

That is exceedingly generous of you. I think the Saudis anyway are taking a serious look at their public perception. My Arabic reading friends have told me that some articles have come out calling for a softer line regarding Americans and Jews. I am struggling to learn the language, but at the rate I'm going, it'll still be another couple of years before I can read a newspaper.

Here is a translation site for you, andak:

They charge after an intial trial run, but the translation is very good.

About the Saudis, they have a very long way to go and they don't seem to be doing much about it. They helped finace the film series in Egypt charging the Jews with carrying out the Protocals conspiracy. A recent study done on Saudi textbooks by the Center for Monitoring the Impact of Peace provided evidence that Saudi education is full of anti-semitism, claiming that the Jews are a racist and wicked people, and Israel doesn't even show up on the map of the ME. The study was gathered from information provided by people in Saudi ARabia who want to see the education system changed, but most experts agree that political interests in the ME are going to preclude thoses changes from happening.
