What about the boycott of cuba? american citizens do not have free choice in this one, do they? I know quite some americans who would like to visit Cuba but are not allowed to do so. But perhaps it's because cuba is such a dangerous country preparing to attack the us

I had anticipated this question on your part, and would like to state that, in the matter of Cuba, I agree with you. There is no pressing need to impose a boycott on Cuba, seeing as it does not show a pressing threat to the national security of the United States, or that of our allies. However, this does not mean that boycotts by government are never legal and proper. In the case of Syria, of which there is talk of sanctions, or in the case of Iraq, where there is already sanctions, these are allowed due the fact that these countries pose a clear, present and definite threat to the national security of the US, it's allies and the civilized world.

Boycotts are a commonplace and legitimate exercise of Free Speech

"Grassroots Consumer Boycotts are democratic and commonplace. They are a healthy, invigorating and laudable expression of public protest and evidence of a vibrant political process."

How about you boycott legitimate targets like the NY times, that denied the holocaust happened even after 50 years of the incident. That is 100 times worst than what NPR is doing.

By the way, Radio stations love this boycotting stuff, its nothing but good news for them, it gives them a audience, this isnt TV or Magazines, negative rating boost radio ratings, stop doing NPR a favor if you hate them so much.

I didnt know they existed, until I turned on my am dial in my car, and found them, and as the publicty I heard about them from this board, I had to listen.
