An Arab female suicide bomber blew herself up Wednesday night at the Maccabim junction, near the town of Modi'in, injuring three Border Policemen.
Three Arabs approached the junction by car on Road 433, from the direction of Jerusalem. They tried to pass through the junction, manned by Border Policemen, and attempted to enter Israeli territory. The three are apparently Israeli citizens.
An eye-witness said that as the vehicle approached the junction, the female suicide bomber got out of the car, with explosives strapped to her body. She detonated the explosives, wounding the three policeman at the junction.
The two other occupants of the car attempted to get out, but were shot and killed by soldiers at the junction. The suicide bomber was killed as a result of the explosion.
The Border Policemen were taken to Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer.
