    Some famous Jews..

People would be surprised of how much influence Jews have had on the world even though they represent for just about 0.2% of the worlds population.

    http://www.yahoodi.com/famous/

    Why is this site interesting?

The Jewish People represent just one fifth of one percent (that's 1/500) of the human race. They are but one of many small groups of people with their own culture, language and homeland. One would expect that they should hardly be heard of - except perhaps a brief mention in a small multi-cultural footnote of a high school geography book.

This is obviously far from the case. Jews are at the center of every creative, scientific, cultural, political, ideological movement and endeavor. Jews are over-represented as Nobel Prize recipients, winning at least 20% (that's 1/5) of all awards given to date. Jews founded Hollywood, and are today the dominant cultural influence in television, radio, cinema, journalism and theater in America and elsewhere. Jews are over-represented in all forms of medicine, in all the professions, in every sport, in modeling and fashion, in law-enforcement and the military, in political sex scandals, in new-age religion... In almost everything that represents the free world and all of its trappings, Jews are there.

Why did you make this site?

We have created this "Famous Jews Interactive", not to brag or gloat. We have heard a few good explanations for the over-representation of Jewish contributions, but one can be certain that the unique qualities of Jewish tradition and culture have played a large part in Jewish excellence. We created this in order to convince Jews that they have much to be proud of and that when they abandon Jewish culture and tradition they do themselves, their children, and the world a disservice. No arguments from the apologists of intermarriage can alter the statistics that the children of intermarriages are much less likely to be brought up with beauty and richness of Jewish culture and to marry Jews themselves. Today, the Jewish population is declining rapidly, not because of the genocidal acts of our enemies, but because of the genocidal aversion and apathy of Jews themselves. If Jewish culture and tradition have played a part in the sheer quantity of Jewish contributions, then perhaps it is worth exploring, rather than avoiding. Please see our links page to begin exploring Jewish tradition and culture.

As a fraction of India's population, they count even less. Yet, the Jews of India have had a hugely disproportionately large impact on India.

I knew it wouldnt be that long before someone starts doing the "blame the Jew" rhetoric. I suppose it is essential for people who cannot forsee past the wall obstructing the view to live life without insane, dramatic, and non-logical reasoning, to dedicate themselves to spewing as much vile as possible against people from either racial or religious backgrounds.

As long as there are people like Evgeny around, no matter what major achievements are made, Jews will always be the people who will be blamed for what HAS happened, what IS happening, and what is GOING TO happen in the future, of the entire world population. People like you prove that Jews are the chosen people...

This guy shows up not long after that other racist, what was his name??? "Hal" was booted off. Perhaps the same guy/gal?

Anyway, you always have to have at least one circling over our heads at any given moment. If we didn't have people like Evgeny to keep us on our toes, the Jewish people might not have such a long memory!

Ok, so I'm feeling positive today.

I didn't see Elvis in that music list? Nor my sister

About Evgeny: he is a representative of some of what I grew up with. I don't think he is "Hal": his is an unmistakably Russian brand of antisemitism. Before they complained about "all those Jews who were enemies of the Revolution; now - it's the ones who were Bolsheviks.

Harshy, from Harshy chocolate, is not Jewish... but a member of some brand of christianity...

AS for Jewish musictians: You must add up these names:
    1. Moses Mendelson. Composer and conducter
    2. Yasha Hefetz - greates violinist of all times
    3. George Gershwine (Gershkovitz)
    4. Lalo Shapran - composer for movies, behind Supermen and starwars theams.

remark, Gene Simmons is the American name of Haim Vitz, an Israeli. And famous entertainer, David Coperfield, the illusionist, is full Jew, half Israeli (his mother is from Natanya).

In economy, allow me to add: Gil Shwaid, creator of the "fire wall" programs. ICQ, was first written by an Israeli group.

Ya'akov Frankel, CEO of merril lynch.

    Daniel Goldin, former NASA Maneger.

Yona Salk, inventor of the polio vaccine, he alone saved million of children all over the world.
