We in Israel have read about your "allies" the French, Belgians and Germans turning their backs on you. We see that your "partners" like China and Russia express disdain for your nation. We in Israel will never do so. We are a tiny nation. We have no oil or resources other than God, our hearts and our minds. But you have taken us under your great Eagle's Wing and nurtured and protected our country against the hordes of our enemies.

We have fought our own battles with our own blood, but you have never let us down and never turned your back to us. We will never forget you and your kindness. Never. If you need us, America, we have your back. We may be few, but we can fight. And if you call on us, fight we shall. Your nation is about to embark upon yet another battle for freedom and liberty. The people who hate liberty and hate achievement, hate us and hate you.

But their hatred can never overcome your greatness, America. You will conquer the evil Saddam and maybe, God willing, you will change the face of the Middle East and start the process of bringing democracy to the Arab world.

Many ask why our country supports this war when we are a likely target of Saddam's death throes. There are two reasons. One is that you are our ally and we return your loyalty as you have loyally supported us. I suppose many in Europe are too cynical to understand such concepts as honor and loyalty.

The second reason is more theoretical. We can not negotiate with the Arabs. Until a majority of Arab nations are democracies, we can never have real peace with them. If you are able to accomplish your mission, you will help bring peace to the region and the world.

I am a soldier of Israel. I was born in Israel and in Israel I shall die. If that means I shall die with a rifle in my hand defending Israel, so be it. And if called upon by my country to defend our American friends, I will gladly shed my blood for you as well. America. . . Israel stands ready!

sorry but this kind of cheap sentimentality just makes me laugh

I guess the palestinians are very lucky since they were taken under the "great Eagle's Wing of Israel" too. Unfortunately for them, they just did not realize it, they believed they were invaded by "hordes of our enemies" and that's why they fought.

It is possible to express one's opinion without being vulgar.

And since you often corrects us on 'using the appropriate word', Elke: I feel Irony is one thing and cynicism is another.

Hebrew expressions common in Israel, traslated into english like that, does sound funny.

However, the above passage does reflects correctly how many Israelis feel about the USA and the war in iraq.

The fact that our Frenchi find this idialism amussing, only high lights the degree of rotting decay of the French nation and decadence state of the European people. I would give Europe more then a century to exist... by then it will be over run completly by Al Qaida supporting mob. The Eurotrash people won't be missed.

We Jews are etrenal. Jews will be around thousands of years to come. "We seen nations rise and fall, heard their stories, heard them all... "

There will be a time when people will forget what "European" or "Arab" means. All that will be left of you Europeans is a foot note in our histroy. A Remark that will remind the whole world to come, what horrible racist anti semetics you all were, and how good is it, they you were gone.

On century is left. Clock is ticking... Some european countries fate is already signed and closed. You'll see their final transformation in your life time. tick, tack... tick, tack... nothing will remain of old Europe but bad memories.

That's true: it is possible to do that. However, sometimes only one word will actually express what is meant. If it is vulgar, then so be it.

...and another thing: what you "feel" about words is immaterial. It's the commonly understood meaning of them that matters. Irony and cynicism are two different concepts.
