Claims that Islam anticipated modern scientific discoveries are delusional.

This reminds me of ancient oracles. They succeeded at making "prophetic" statements by mastering the art of making vague and ambiguous statements.

The proof is in the pudding: where is the evidence of great scientific developments, either theoretical or practical, coming from Islamic societies?

More important, why do Islamic societies reject many of the political developments that have made scientific discoveries and advances possible?

Separation of church and state, complete freedom of faith, capitalism, lending/investment, and so forth are all necessary to such discoveries/advances.

As best I can tell, Islamic states have actually impeded scientific exploration and even basic economic development for their masses.

And why do oil-rich Islamic states need Western experts to build and manage their oil industries?
