But there weren't any Christian Nazis, right? How about Buddhist Nazis? Remember, these people were fighting for a paycheck.

The Muslims were fighting for a paycheck????? What are you talking about?

They didn't have our 20/20 hindsight to be able to identify their employers as a force of evil in the 20th century.

Actually it was a concious decision of Albanian, Bulgarian and Croatian governments to fight on the German side. Even the Chechens decided to show a little independence and conducted separate treaties with German command, also well documented, - something that Stalin never forgave them for.

That's not to deny that there is a great deal of anti-Semitism in the Arab world. But the Lutherans and Catholics had far more to do with the Holocaust than the Muslims.

The idea of the thread is to comment on the present not the past. By the way - there are even home grown non-Arab Israeli-nazis in Israel.

    Of course there were.

    Could be, who knows? Shinto?

I would have hoped better from you. You don't need 20/20 hindsight to know that these folks created the Ustasha, deported Serbs, Jews, Romany, joined the SS and generally were indistinguishable from the SS.

At any rate, it's an old story and not one that entirely relevant to today. What's relevant I suppose is how easy it is for ANYONE, ANYWHERE in ANY COUNTRY to grab the "Kill all the Jews" lever and pull it as a useful tool for practically anything.

For example did you know that in the 1950's the US state dept actively promoted the antisemitic belief that Communism was a Jewish plot? They did this to drive a wedge between the Pan Arab movement and the Soviets?

Sure, maybe not everyone who says they believe Jews should all be dead actually believe it. Who really cares.

I'm pretty damn tired of hearing the good reason why I should listen to the good reason someone needs to murder my kids.

I heard recently to my surprise that Aaron Copeland was interviewed by the House UnAmerican Affairs Comittee because of things he had done decades before.
