This should definitely be the END of any more Israeli concessions to the meaningless hudna, which was a phony gambit to begin with, engaged in by the pals to avoid the actual requirements of the "roadmap".

My gut tells me that a few WB towns may be back under Israeli control soon.

At least 7 killed in suicide bombing on Jerusalem bus

By Amos Harel and Jonathan Lis, Haaretz Correspondents, Haaretz Service and Reuters

At least seven people were killed, including a
number of children, and dozens were wounded in a
suicide bombing Tuesday night on a bus in downtown
    Jerusalem.

    The explosion occured at around
9 P.M. in the Shmuel Hanavi
    neighborhood of the capital.

There has as yet been no claim
    of responsibility.

    Jerusalem police chief Mickey
Levy said that the bomb had
been a large one, and that bus

was still being checked for further explosive
    devices.

Most of the people on the bus, which was
travelling from the Western Wall to the
religious neighborhood of Har Nof, were
    ultra-Orthodox Jews, Channel One Television
reported. Police are checking the possibility
that the terrorist was disguised as a Haredi
    Jew, the report said.

Reuters journalist Barry Moody said two buses
were hit by the blast. He said one - on which
the suicide bomber is thought to have set off
his explosive device - was completely
devastated, while the other - travelling behind
    - had its windows blown out.

The Magen David Adom rescue service said that at
least 74 people were wounded, some in serious
    condition.

Police have closed the site off to traffic and
have asked the public to keep away from the
    scene of the blast.

I predict that events like the ones today in Iraq and Israel will escalate in the coming year leading up to the election.

This is a slap in Bush’s face and they’ll continue hitting until his popularity falls.

I for one believe that the US Administration is out of touch with reality. The reality is that Islam wants to destroy the west.

Suicide Bomber Kills 20 on Israeli Bus

By LARA SUKHTIAN, Associated Press Writer

JERUSALEM - A suicide bomber blew himself up Tuesday on a packed bus on a main thoroughfare in Jerusalem, killing at least 20 people, Israel Army Radio said.

The militant Islamic Jihad group claimed responsibility in a call to the Lebanese TV station Al Manar. The attack killed three children and wounded at least 100 more.

The blast on the extra long bus, which had two passenger sections that were full, went off shortly after 9 p.m. Another bus nearby also was hit by the explosion.

The bus had started out at the Western Wall, Judaism's holiest shrine, in the walled Old City, and was headed to an ultra-Orthodox Jewish neighborhood, radio reports said, making it likely that many of the passengers were ultra-Orthodox.

The bus was badly damaged, with its windows blown out, and rescuers had to use blow torches to pry wounded from the wreckage.

"What is clear is that it was a very big bomb," Jerusalem fire chief Amnon Amir said.

Shocked survivors, including several crying children with blood-smeared faces, were led away from the scene. A paramedic cradled a little girl in his arms, and two others led away an older woman.

Paramedics treated wounded on the sidewalk, and body parts were strewn about.

The bombing threatened to restart the cycle of attacks and retaliation that could derail a U.S.-backed "road map" peace plan to Palestinian statehood.

Over the weekend, Israel and the Palestinians had reached agreement on the handover of four West Bank towns to Palestinian control. That deal was likely to be put on hold.

The Palestinian Authority (news - web sites) had no immediate comment. The explosion went off as Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas was meeting with Islamic militants in the Gaza Strip (news - web sites) to persuade them to halt attacks on Israelis.

The militants had declared a unilateral truce on June 29 but have said they would continue taking revenge for Israeli killings of their operatives.

Hamas said it was not involved. "We are commited to the truce. I don't know who carried out this action," said Abdel Aziz Rantisi, a Hamas leader.
